July 30, 2024Jul 30 At least all versions will be combined officially and we can see if it makes a return.
August 6, 2024Aug 6 I wonder if it will get a reset? Think the record company will need to specifically ask for one, but when it's so prominent in the Deadpool Vs Wolverine movie then it could happen
August 6, 2024Aug 6 Combined the posts for Like a Prayer single into this thread! Great to see it making an appearance in the mids :cheer:
August 8, 2024Aug 8 Author Posted this in the UK Chart Runs & Sales thread but thought I'd keep a note here: Madonna’s 1989 No.1, Like A Prayer, also features in crucial scenes in the film, and increases consumption 134.57% to 10,497 units. Bye Bye Bye has had a reset and is on SCR but Like A Prayer remains on ACR – otherwise it would be a re-entry at No.47 this week. Bye Bye Bye also appears on the Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack album, which jumps 114-6 (2,044 sales) on the compilation chart this week. Madonna almost never allows her songs on compilations, and doesn’t make an exception for Deadpool & Wolverine. Bye Bye Bye is *Nsync’s most-consumed title, with a to-date tally of 793,057 units, while Like A Prayer has lifetime consumption of 1,489,225 units. #32 downloads #37 sales #88 audio streaming
August 9, 2024Aug 9 'Like A Prayer' has re-entered the singles chart at #95 - its first appearance since June 1989. Edited August 9, 2024Aug 9 by DanielsAloud
August 9, 2024Aug 9 Author Delighted at it making a chart return, even on ACR! It would have been #41 if re-set. Madonna’s 1989 No.1, Like A Prayer, which features in crucial scenes in the film remains on ACR but is a re-entry at No.95 (5,875 sales). On the Top 200 Combined Tracks chart, Like A Prayer advances 79-58 (11,476 sales). It fails the automatic reset test - which requires it to increase streaming 25% more than the market week-on-week and would see it at No.41 on the Top 75 this week – and has demonstrably not yet been the subject of a manual reset request. This is its full chart run: NE: 2-1-1-1-3-8-18-25-27-43-58-74-80 (first entry: 18/03/89) 13w RE: 150-151-189 (second entry: 21/08/99) 3w RE: 123-117-134-141-185 (third entry: 12/05/01) 5w RE: 191 (fourth entry: 23/06/01) 1w RE: 196-173 (fifth entry: 14/07/01) 2w RE: 184 (sixth entry: 30/11/02) 1w RE: 185 (seventh entry: 10/05/08) 1w RE: 135 (eighth entry: 06/02/10) 1w RE: 126-192 (ninth entry: 08/05/10) 2w RE: 199 (tenth entry: 30/07/11) 1w RE: 126 (eleventh entry: 13/08/11) 1w RE: 186 (twelfth entry: 18/08/12) 1w RE: 95 (thirteenth entry: 15/08/24) 1w Total: 33w Other positions this week: #36 downloads (down from #32) #39 sales (down from #37) #60 audio streaming (up from #88)
August 10, 2024Aug 10 The choir version is the one that stood out to me when I saw the movie. I’m excited to hear that later!
August 10, 2024Aug 10 Author Maybe they’ll request a reset this week? Presumably this new EP will help push it into the top 40 given it would have been #41 last week if it weren’t on ACR.
August 10, 2024Aug 10 Really hope it gets a reset and its to see the song get introduced to a new audience, the younger people can see what great music she used to release. Like a prayer is now number 10 on itunes.
August 11, 2024Aug 11 I know iTunes isn't as important now, but on Kworb this is showing as #4 on the worldwide iTunes store for yesterday! Absolutely huge blow-up. On UK iTunes: 8. Madonna - Like a Prayer 32. Madonna - Like a Prayer (Battle Royale Mix from “Deadpool & Wolverine”) 94. Madonna - Like a Prayer :cheeseblock:
August 11, 2024Aug 11 Like A Prayer deserves to be one of the biggest selling songs of all time, and quite frankly I am astonished it isn't! It's such a CLASSIC and I don't know anyone who does not like it. Funnily enough it doesn't seem to be many people's favourite Madonna song either but it's the one everyone seems to like or admire.
August 11, 2024Aug 11 If not already, Like a Prayer needs to be Madonna's biggest selling single. I think it is now thanks to streaming, although it used to be Vogue and I think Hung Up then 4 Minutes in turn became her biggest worldwide sellers at the time.
