Agreed that Fortnight was a pretty poor first single choice (coming from a Swiftie) so I'm not surprised its not holding up as well as Anti Hero did, release a video for I Can Do It With A Broken Heart now pls hun x

exactly what I was trying to say. obviously ‘TTPD’ has been an absolutely stratospheric success for Taylor, no taking that away from her, but I was expecting the record to have a long-lasting top 3/5 hit in it (‘Anti-Hero’ level of popularity). not trying to diminish her achievements at all :,)

it leaked in march and then they started teasing in april, so its had quite a bit of hype surrounding it, a la greedy by tate last year

'Stargazing' is another folk tune.

I think 'MILLION DOLLAR BABY' is just the latest song benefiting from an autoplay surge (it gained 1.6 million streams worldwide today, compared to the second biggest gain of the day being only 370k, and perhaps even more tellingly the VHS version of the song actually had a slight decrease lol, plus it is much lower on Apple and showing no signs of a corresponding surge there) but still loving seeing it hitting these numbers on Spotify. Hope it can go top 3 next week!

It's still #7 on Apple at the moment, if it were going to be contending to have that big of a debut on Spotify then I'd have thought it'd be #1 on Apple already as well. (Not sure how long it's been since it last updated tbf). No doubt coming to have a pretty big debut though, great joy x
