May 11, 20241 yr As for Israel honestly their song was just ok and I thought in poor taste some elements of the performance. Imo the same track from another country wouldn't have been in contention. The UK giving it 12 is suspicious really because nothing about it stood out as particularly appealing to UK tastes the way some of the other tracks this year likely did. Sidenote, somebody on the scoresheet has been giving 12s out of 10 lol
May 11, 20241 yr The ABBA thing looks quite a lot better in the show itself to be fair, due to the screen and effects used there. The whole thing was relatively pointless as it was wholesale lifted from a part of the show. I'm sure they could have got Benny and Björn in at least to say a few new words.
May 11, 20241 yr Fantastic winner. It's one of the ones that really had the total package so glad to see it translate and come out on top but Croatia were just as excellent. Fab top 2! The witch giving Ireland their best result in yonks, g'won! 18th is respectable for us despite the reality that we would've got 0 if just for the public vote so good on the juries for saving that. Can't say I was crazy on the performance and the song has only ever been just fine but nothing more for me.

May 11, 20241 yr I’m thinking Croatia would likely have got closer to Switzerland if Israel hadn’t been in the competition as their televote score will have been bumped from 12 to 10 or 10 to 8 in many cases whereas Switzerland will have been bumped from like 6 to 5. I think Switzerland would still have won though.

You've got the likes of Andrew Neil, Laurence Fox and every right wing hack/scumbag who couldn't give a rat's arse about Eurovusion watching it this year and voting for Israel to piss of the lefties. So that wasn't a surprise at all. Shocked if we saw the voting percentages but think we don't and thank goodness. Interesting that Ukraine, a country that is undergoing invasion gave Israel nil.
