August 1, 2024Aug 1 I'll absolutely take Delirious being that high - thought there might have been a mistake when they didn't appear with the other 27-pointers!
August 1, 2024Aug 1 Happy with that result for BMTH, though I've not been too into their most recent stuff (and still don't know much of their earliest stuff)
August 1, 2024Aug 1 Love the Beautiful South, in particular their earlier stuff. I guess Five are the first of the big boy bands to go (oh wait, I think East 17 have also been and gone!) Edited August 1, 2024Aug 1 by Mangø

August 1, 2024Aug 1 I've shamefully never heard a Rolling Stones album in full before... should change that as 'Paint It, Black' and 'Gimme Shelter' are all-time greats. Love love love all the obvious Kinks hits like 'All Day and All of the Night', 'You Really Got Me', 'Lola', 'Sunny Afternoon', 'Waterloo Sunset' etc. - gravitated to their singles quickly, after getting into The Beatles in a big way as a teen and immediately wanting to dive into more 60s music. 'Keep On Movin' by 5ive is up there for best boy band song tbh
August 1, 2024Aug 1 Would ‘Rotterdam’ not be the Beautiful South’s biggest hit? ?? I'm struggling to think on what basis it would be? It wasn't the highest peaking nor the highest selling was it?
August 1, 2024Aug 1 Used to absolutely love 5ive when I was growing up, one of the only male acts I liked as a kid 😂
August 1, 2024Aug 1 Crap i really should have given points to the Beautiful South, they have so many great songs.
August 1, 2024Aug 1 ?? I'm struggling to think on what basis it would be? It wasn't the highest peaking nor the highest selling was it? It's neither but curiously is the highest streamed on Spotify with 50m streams, but they have five songs between 30m and 50m so their bigger hits are quite consistent. Presumably A Little Time is both their highest peaking and highest selling. It's also their second highest streamed.

Presumably A Little Time is both their highest peaking and highest selling. It's also their second highest streamed. I guess Rotterdam is maybe the best known? As in, if you asked the GP to name a Beautiful South song, they'd be more likely to think of 'Rotterdam' than 'A Little Time'. 'A Little Time' is obviously their highest peaking as their sole number one, but I wouldn't be too surprised if 'Perfect 10' was ahead on sales.
August 2, 2024Aug 2 When I think The Beautiful South the first songs that come to mind would be A Little Time, Song For Whoever and Don't Marry Her. Rotterdam would be way down the list. Is it beloved of a particlular radio station or something?

Is it beloved of a particlular radio station or something? Not a particular radio station but I'm sure 'Rotterdam' and 'Don't Marry Her' get played on the radio much more than 'A Little Time' does. Maybe I'm wrong though.
August 2, 2024Aug 2 For what it's worth, the top 5 on Spotify are: Rotterdam - 51m streams A Little Time - 40m Perfect 10 - 33m Song For Whoever - 31m Don't Marry Her - 31m
