Em in em is beating her on youtube and miles ahead on Itunes so if he outperforms her 5 days out of 7 it negates at least partially the first two days of Taylor meaning you can roughly estimate Eminem on course for 80k+ and the second biggest total of the week

There is no way to tell how much he's selling on iTunes until we see the numbers at the end of the week (or maybe in today's midweeks if we're lucky).

 

I do think his chances of holding onto #1 look better than they did the other day since he's holding up well on Spotify but I'd be surprised if it was a huge margin either way.

I used to be a huge fan of Fred but he's become really overrated now. Same formula different artist. His Instagram is a cringe fest. The collab with Overmono was good but they carried that

He tries way too hard on Instagram. It's like a 13 year child writes the captions of his posts. There's so much more talented and versatile electronic producers out there that deserve the mass hype he gets. His music became predictable and uses other artists to carry the songs.

 

And lots of artists have control over their Instagram. Most of them don't use Twitter and have their teams control Twitter.

I had to check out his Insta after all this talk about it. I don't find anything on there particularly cringe, I think it's quite cool the way he shares what he's been up to, surely pretty interesting for anyone who's a fan of his. I certainly don't think it warrants the comment about a 13 year old writing it :unsure:

 

But going back to the original point about him, I definitely think it's a slight drop in quality that's affected his recent popularity. Hopefully he can correct that soon!

I felt like at the end of 2022 Fred Again... was really cutting-edge and more offering something exciting compared to most, I'm certainly not getting that from him nowadays.

He will likely do 80k+ with how he's doing. He's #1 on Amazon (very fast climb there) and the first 2 days on youtube he did over 2 million. Rare to see a song #1 across all platforms (Spotify/Apple Music/Youtube/Amazon/iTunes) like he is. Most songs peak at different times on different platforms but he's #1 on all. Shame we can't see how big of a lead he has on Amazon & Apple Music.

Well this is a crazy comment. Eminem has a lot of older fans who still would use itunes. So if we are saying Taylor had a 800k advantage on spotify from day 1 in sales that is what? 6k? Eminem is easily negating that via Itunes. He's been #1 for the whole time and a 2nd version kept going up which indicates the first was still increasing 2 days later. So if anything your comment couldn't be more wrong because Eminem might have completed negated it by Wednesday

Well yes I already admitted in another thread that he's clearly done more download sales than I expected to contribute to that sizeable lead. The midweek evidence also suggests I underestimated his final sales tally.

 

99 times out of 100 iTunes means fook all in 2024 though. You can get to #1 on iTunes and not make the weekly top 100. It's a largely dead format. You can't assume that an iTunes #1 is going to negate any streaming disadvantage because you're not comparing like for like in terms of scale.
