June 3, 20241 yr Nah, it has too many pre-release singles to miss the top ten. Plus she's playing the formats game unlike last time I think? I'd be amazed if she dropped much, all those new entries below her are bound to drop faster.
June 3, 20241 yr Clear blue water for Eminem this week then. Guess I was wrong about the significance of his downloads, i'm surprised. Still likely to continue his extraordinary one week chart topper streak though.
June 3, 20241 yr Don’t think he’s ever had a multi week #1 before? amazingly not and I expect Sabrina will be back at the top next week too to keep that going
June 3, 20241 yr I love seeing people crying because a 51 year old artist is going to be #1, with a pitiful playlisting and without multiple versions or remixes
June 3, 20241 yr Just listening for the first time and it’s pretty meh but at least a great 80s #2 is (sort of) going all the way.
June 3, 20241 yr Didn’t realise he was as old as 51. Wow, not many soloists in their 50s who can get a new No.1 single. This song sounds like 2002 via the 80s thanks to the sample. Crazy there is so much appetite for it.
June 3, 20241 yr I love seeing people crying because a 51 year old artist is going to be #1, with a pitiful playlisting and without multiple versions or remixes No one is crying lol, how dramatic. Just think him relying on a sample and using Megan's trauma in his lyrics is embarrassing for a man of his age.
June 3, 20241 yr 1 Eminem - Houdini (35,259) * I just checked now and fortnight was 38,315 at the same time so not much in it but fortnight obviously had huge days the first two mainly so there is a decent possibility that Eminem might get the highest total of the year
June 3, 20241 yr Good to see Majestic and Celine Dion as high as 50, hopefully it holds up and at the least goes top 75 this week, also good to see Chappell Roan still having 3 songs top 100 im still waiting for everything to just really take off for her. Girls Aloud down to 42 in the albums, hopefully back in the top 40 by the end of the week, Taylor Swift will easily be number 1 again this week.
June 3, 20241 yr Rap God peaked lower than Bezerk because Bezerk was the lead and Rap God came after it and by only a week, as part of a very of its era series of instant grat releases. Just Lose It also seems a strange #1 in retrospect but was the lead single for Encore after the last album was huge so pretty much anything would have done it. Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie did have very strong chart runs despite not being chart toppers, in fact LTWYL was rather infamously the biggest seller of the year despite not being a #1. Very interesting, thanks. I feel like if they were released in this music climate we have now they'd fair better. The charts was a bit different then but I wasn't really paying attention.
June 3, 20241 yr Great numbers for Eminem, but I hope the song has a better longevity as well. Can see this already out of Top 100 in like 12-14 weeks.
June 3, 20241 yr Great numbers for Eminem, but I hope the song has a better longevity as well. Can see this already out of Top 100 in like 12-14 weeks. For an artist like Eminem a number 1 with that type of chart run wont be sniffed at.

The charts was a bit different then but I wasn't really paying attention. Big energy but if LTWYL was released in today's chart climate and had the same appeal it probably would have had 9 weeks at #1. If the charts worked anything like they used to for decades pre-streaming, Espresso wouldn't even be the main competition for Eminem this week. He would probably be deposing Central Cee who would have deposed Billie who would have deposed Posty who have deposed Sabrina. It's easier to think of how the charts might have been in a different era lately when we have had a fair few straight out the gate hits, at other times it's so incompatible it would be a nebulous and pointless exercise.
June 3, 20241 yr Huh, well that is a much bigger lead than I expected for Eminem. I guess he must actually be underperforming on Spotify relative to elsewhere then? I really wish we could get actual numbers from any other platform, I guess we have YouTube numbers too but video streams are weighted so low that even though he does have a huge lead there it's not going to be making this big of a difference. Shame the midweeks haven't given a download/streaming split as they sometimes do, maybe he has actually just sold a disproportionately high number of downloads. This song sounds like 2002 via the 80s thanks to the sample. Crazy there is so much appetite for it. I think that's largely the reason the appetite is so great for it - people are excited to hear Eminem releasing something that sounds more like his early 00s heyday again.
June 3, 20241 yr Bon Jovi or Charli releasing next Friday to hopefully stop Taylor from hogging #1 album. She’s making the album chart look stale and nice to see Eminem on course for #1 single. I wonder if it will be his first #1 single to spend multiple weeks at #1 Edited June 3, 20241 yr by Hadji
June 3, 20241 yr Bon Jovi or Charli releasing next Friday to hopefully stop Taylor from hogging #1 album. She’s making the album chart look stale and nice to see Eminem on course for #1 single. I wonder if it will be his first #1 single to spend multiple weeks at #1 In an album chart literally full of Greatest Hits collections that have been there for years and will continue to be, a 6-week old album is making the chart look stale. Good one.
