It should still air as usual, not sure if it will be aired in stages too but I can’t imagine it would, they will most likely have it all filmed by June/July when All Stars usually airs

I like the idea of this season but it sounds like a mess to me. We won't see some queens from the other groups for weeks whilst it airs and then only two episodes to go from a top 9 to top 4 (presumably) with the winner only competing in 5 episodes. I'm hoping there are actually more than 2 episodes post merge.

Agreed! The finale is meant to be a lipsync tournamen type thing so I think it’s mad the queens in the finale will only do 5 challenges. I feel like they could have done the first round qualifiers and then the 9 plus wildcard would make a decent normal season with a few more episodes to it.

Also I don’t want to call fix before it even airs but it’s convenient how Ginger gets off without a Ball or design challenge

Omg 😂 I really hope it isn't geared for Ginger to get a crown. Although the favouritism will likely be there and they probably want a big girl winner at some point (be it main or all stars).

I'm just so amused by Mistress's dedication to trolling that she comes in for the first half big and then in the filming break loses about half her bodyweight so it will be impossible for the production to hide that there was a break between filming because she will look so different from one 'week' to the next.

Also the thought of Lydia filming S17, AS10, presumably the S17 final before going back, then back to AS10

And she actually bottoms the Roast and wins design and Rusical this time, I am very interested to see how she is coming back.

Lowkey I'm all for Mistress being the winner. Our first big girl winner but by the time the final airs she won't be big no longer.

And that cast for a normal season would've been incredible.

Ok having seen this episode of 17 I now understand that Lydia coming back so soon might actually end up working out; this is the most 'robbed queen' moment we've had for a while on US Drag Race and she really was just unfortunate as the lipsync assassin of the season this time.

It makes sense that she ate this run too now, like she was so “almost there” this season and just needed to apply her wicked wonderful mind to the challenges properly, it’s just sometimes her ideas got lost. And coming fresh off of being a lipsync assassin, getting a win, and going back, when all she really needed was to believe in herself, it feels like perfect timing for her momentum.

I’m really rooting for her to make the finale but I do worry Snatch Game and talent which are rumoured to be the next challenges are pretty much the two worst for her to face.

That said, I have viscerally disliked all of her runways apart from this week's! I hope she has some better ones coming in All Stars

I’ve been glancing at this tea and the more I read it the more I’m confused as to how this format is supposed to work 😭 hopefully it’s more clear when it actually airs

The merge starts filming today, and they are filming the semi-final episodes. The semi-final episodes are expected to be Snatch Game and Talent Show. The merge queens are:

Group #1: Aja, Bosco, Irene The Alien

Group #2: Jorgeous, Lydia B Kollins, Mistress

Isabelle Brooks

Group #3: Cynthia Lee Fontaine, Daya Betty, Ginger Minj

There's something very camp about Cynthia being guaranteed to place higher than her original seasons despite not doing well in any episode and making the finals by default

Seems to only be 2, challenges are Snatch Game and talent show. Earlier tea said the finale was a Lalaparuza type thing so I presume we could have more finalists than usual but perhaps it will be double elims for these two episodes or something, we do also have earlier tea that said a wildcard will come back after the merge and it could be from the merge stage or the groups stage and supposedly the judges just arbitrarily decide. Imagine someone skipping the merge and winning, camp

I agree I kind of like the format, after AS9’s non elim dragged and AS8 wasn’t the best, something a bit more chaotic is exactly what it needs. It is a bit weird that the queens will only do 5 challenges really but sticking to the staple challenges and switching up the cast every few episodes I think will combat filler episodes or it feeling like it’s dragging.

oh only 2 episodes with 9/10 queens is so weird?? and to go on all stars just to be in 5 episodes i would feel short changed lol.

The final has also filmed apparently, its 8 girls so there is an elim for Snatch Game and talent show, then the final is a Lalaparuza of 8, including the eildcard.
