Too many of their recent singings have had minimal impact (Doku, Nunes, Savinho), and too many of their players are no where near what they were (KdB, Walker, Gundogan). When you add in Rodri's injury and the bizarre sale and non-replacement of Alvarez I definitely think it's a season too far and T4 contenders is their current limit.

4 games against City since promotion and each previous time you've got to be absolutely on it to stand any chance, hope they're not and they're a bit wasteful and maybe grab a point like 22/23. It feels so weird seeing Man City A as the next fixutre and thinking we've every chance of taking something.

What trophies are they going to win? They’re out of the league cup. Doing terrible in the CL and miles behind in the Prem.

How do you fix Kyle Walker? He’s finished. What about Stones? Is Pep a chiropractor? De Bruyne belongs in Saudi at this point. I’m telling you it’s over

Easy, you manage the squad and transition. Too early to say they are finished- they will come back. I don’t think they will win the title this season for what it’s worth as I don’t think the holes can be patched up quickly. But on their day they can still beat anyone. And Pep might even find a tactical fix with the players at his disposal. Not sure Walker is finished- he’s just not able to play like he used to. Same with a lot of their players.

Transitioning the squad is the hardest thing to do and you have to be brutal. Suspect this run has told Pep what he needs to do. Surely wider issue is they’ve let so many players go who’d walk in to their team right now (Palmer, Rogers, Lavia, Harwood-Bellis).

Yeh the Palmer one is wild and yet he couldn’t have known how good he would be, same with Delano! Alvarez is more understandable considering they had a like for like replacement. It’ll take a season but city will be back especially if Pep stays.

New Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has revealed his pain at leaving Manchester United but vowed to stamp his authority on the Foxes.

The former Red Devils striker replaced Steve Cooper at the King Power Stadium on Friday, signing a deal until 2027.

It comes after a four-game spell as interim manager at Old Trafford, following the sacking of Erik ten Hag, before he left when Ruben Amorim was appointed last month.

Van Nistelrooy, brought in by Ten Hag as an assistant manager in July, oversaw three wins and one draw during his four-game stint in charge at United and was initially upset over his exit.

"The moment I took over the interim job what I said was I'm here to help United and to stay to help United, and I meant it. So I was disappointed, very much so, and it hurt I had to leave," he said.

"In the end I got my head round it because I also understand the new manager. I'm in football long enough and I've managed myself. I understand.

"I spoke to Ruben about it, fair enough to him, the conversation was grateful, man to man, person to person, manager to manager. That helped [me] a lot to move on and straightaway get into talks with new possibilities which of course lifted my spirits."

That's Lopetegui gone now surely. Unlucky to run into the inevitable immediate new manager bounce but West Ham have gone backwards under him.
Good start for Ruud. West Ham look terrible

Seems like it. Unfortunare for him as I thought they were much the better side against Leicester.

Of course in football management sackings are common but has this guy ever not been sacked from a club/country? every time he gets announced as a new manager somewhere it just feels like the countdown is on immediately to his sacking.

Yep no idea what people see in him, won one Europa League and people seem to hold him in the same regard as the European heavyweights.

Salah is incredible. Just producing world class moments every game

Draw prob a fair result there tbf

Definitely, we were so off the pace in the 1st half. Chelsea & Arsenal win, so the gap is reduced and Arsenal have got the fixtures & momentum at the moment. Will be tight!

An embarrassing result for Nottingham Forest. Fancy losing to Man C.

Just shows how fickle football is, 3 days ago we had people saying Man City were completely finished and Man Utd had found their superstar manager. Fooball ey

O'Neil is a dead man walking now, zero chance he turns this rut around.

I'd be shocked if he, Lopetegui and Martin all got to Christmas without being sacked.

Yeh was thinking that ONeill needs to win his next home game or he’s gone.

I think Martin will stay all season like Kompany managed to despite being even less pragmatic now they're in the big league.

It's either that or they panic in March and wheel out Big Sam from the attic.

Agreed, he’s gone. Although all those clubs seem to be in a bit of a PSR mess so I think it all depends on who they can find for free.
