Am I correct in thinking that the original Three Lions’s sales are now combined with the ‘98 version despite them charting as two different track originally in the 90’s?
The Singles Collection just misses out on 3 years in the Top 100 this week for Britney :drama:

Quite a lot of top 100 new entries this week despite the top 40 being pretty dead! Lol at there being two new entries for Meghan Trainor and not even on her album release week, I presume Amazon is continuing to support her heavily?

Fairly sure they've been combined for the weekly charts for all of the song's re-entries in the digital era. They did continue to have their sales separated on all time best seller lists for some time but that was combined too quite a while ago (I forget exactly when but probably over a decade ago at this point?)

Does anyone know the thinking and decision making between combining them?

'Three Lions' becomes the first non-Christmas song to enter the Top 40 in a 10th different calendar year.

'Mr Brightside' spends its 160th week in the Top 75, taking the record from 'Someone You Loved'.

'Three Lions' becomes the first non-Christmas song to enter the Top 40 in a 10th different calendar year.

Not sure if the answer to this is already in a stats thread somewhere but what song has the 2nd most? (My first thought was 'Thriller' but that's a way behind on 6 so I might be missing something).

Total sales were given by Music Week this week: 952,674. That's everything excluding the 1998 re-release I believe, and you also have to bare in mind that 1996 sales have been downgraded from what was reported at the time.

why in the name of sanity did they downgrade the 90s sales in the first place? Particular as the two lots of stats now seem to each crop up in different lists with no semblance. Silliness.

I have no idea, I always pick up on this when they refer to the sales of ‘Wonderwall’ by Oasis. The Official Charts Company seem to alternate between two figures. I’d get it if they stuck to one figure but it’s just confusing when they keep switching.
