June 30, 20241 yr Trying to think of the last song to return to #1 without re-entering and with multiple multi-week #1s in between. The Beatles - She Loves You did in 1963, but I can't think of anything more recent to do so!
June 30, 20241 yr Expecting Chappell to be top 5 today with GLB. Fingers crossed for an official top 5.

June 30, 20241 yr I mean where there was more than one #1 to have multiple weeks at #1 in the time between the runs of the song which went back there.
June 30, 20241 yr It happened in 1997-98 with 'Perfect Day' (having 2 weeks of Teletubbies and 2 weeks of Spice Girls before returning to #1). That and 'She Loves You' are the only ones, didn't take too long to comb through Wikipedia since returns to #1 are a relatively rare occurrence and pretty easy to spot on Wikipedia's lists of #1s.
June 30, 20241 yr Thanks Bré - I thought there might have been a new year returnee that did this but couldn't think of one! So if 'Espresso' returns to #1 this week (or in the next few), it'll be only the third ever.
