Not sure but in 91 when Bryan Adams-Everything I Do was #1 for like 4 months? and prior to him and after him the #1s were also not-UK... I think it went Cher-Shoop Shoop song, then Color me Badd, then Jason Donovan, then Bryan Adams, then U2-The Fly... so must have been quite a long period

If we don't count Last Christmas, which of course is from the UK but an old song that comes back every year and has nothing to do with current hitmaking, the most recent is Now and Then by The Beatles which is quite funny.

But that was in November - 8 months ago.

I think that in summer 91 there were 27 weeks in a row without a UK #1, mostly due to Bryan :D ... now it's been 26 weeks without a UK #1 (counting using wiki, so could be off)
Those sales for Imagine Dragons are shocking. Don’t they have like 6+ variants of this album? Pretty shocking for a first week sale to be that low all things considered tbh. Idk if they were all available in the UK but I assume they would be?

Imagine Dragons will probably drop below Charli too, and probably won’t be far ahead of Chappell and The Weeknd.

Could still be very close between Sab and Sab in the singles then.

Why is the abysmal Central Cee back in the top 10?

Just a default climb from Tommy Richman going to ACR and nothing new coming in I think. I’d actually rather have Band4Band back than Cruel Summer right now.

disappointing for Imagine Dragons, they have so many vinyl variants, all so pretty, think there are 6 of them, but none sold-out, so it was clear the demand was not huge
No (she was already down to #70 in the Monday update).

Yeah but that was before the Glastonbury effect, it's up to #4 on iTunes so was hoping it would have reached a higher peak than last week.

The first-week sales are looking like they’ll match 2021’s ‘Mercury - Part 1’. I wasn’t expecting much more really.

Ah fair enough - I can’t imagine iTunes alone doing much for it though if most of the physical demand was exhausted in Week 1.

Not shocked to see Taylor number 1 even though ideally any other album in the top 5 would be ahead of her.

Hoping Chappell Roan stays top 4 in the singles.

Dua Lipa sales are disappointing as there is a new issue and Glastonbury boost but I welcome seeing the album so high again as it deserves the success
Love to see a big battle in the singles chart. Team Please Please Please to remain number 1 this Friday. :D
It's not exactly a big battle when it's between two songs by the same artist that have both already reached #1 anyway
