With 1,212 stream units (262 yesterday) it’s looking likely it won’t even match Golden for week 1 streams (1,870)

Considering BMG were all about increasing her streaming presence it’s pretty poor.

Although I guess Golden had 16 tracks & there’s only 10 on T2 counting towards the album but 6 years since Golden when streams have generally increased in the market.

T1 did 3,963 & Disco 3,040 week 1

It is a bit disappointing (I’m always surprised at how successful Disco actually was – and deservedly so), so I hope they will learn from this roll-out. But then again, Tension II replaced a Super Extra Bonus Deluxe edition of Tension, and in doing so gave her more publicity and probably and extra 30k in sales.

At this point, unless there is an unlikely viral moment, it’s all about the tour, before a new – and more anticipated – album cycle begins in spring 2026. We’ll all be hungry for more by then

Doesn't have to be Spring 2026. For all we know, it could happen next year itself (like I posted earlier - Fever campaign started as the OANLT tour wrapped up)
I just don't see it somehow, realistically speaking. Summer 2026 at the absolute very earliest is my guess for the next album's campaign beginning.

‘Disco’ was such an outlier though - it was during covid so more people had extra time to be invested and stream more plus we had the addition of a fierce chart battle.

Kylie Minogue could be on the way to securing her 10th No.1 album this week with Tension II, which has racked up 32,366 sales so far. The record has been boosted significantly by its physical release, which accounts for 27,652 sales, whilst downloads account for 3,210 units and streams account for 1,504.

Nice nmubers so hopefully 35k by end of week.

I too still think an album will come next year. i bet she is being thrown songs and she likes a Q4 release. Tour is free promo across the world. Take it Kylie.

Looks like 40k isn’t happening, but I’m still happy that it’s likely to make it to 35k given that this was my initial hope/prediction!

I think it’s pretty good sales for an album that has arrived only a year after her previous one (so no comeback hype), with no big hits to its name.

I’d be very (pleasantly) surprised if K18 comes in 2025 or even in early 2026. I feel like after the tour is completed she’ll want a reasonably long break before she thinks of starting a new album cycle.

23rd Midweek Update

1(NEW) Tension II

Sales: 32,366

Yesterday: 1160 (no4)

CD: 16828

Digital: 3210

Streams: 1504 (no50)

LP: 8675

I'm just happy she is still releasing regular albums and singles when other legacy acts like Mariah and Janet don't seem to be giving us anything.
you can tell Spotify haven't supported much this era at all. Thats the biggest streamer

Looks like it’ll make about 2200 on streams, whilst not great, if it makes 1000 plus next week it won’t plummet out of the top 75.

Plus this is much more profitable and successful than a repack like GLE. Sales are already way higher and she’s sold 500,000 plus concert tickets at the same time.

Honestly, I think I'm going to have to prostitute myself after the tour tickets :drama:

Jessie Whore lol

Haha.

Just bought the extended digital alongside the cassette, plus added a LCA CD and Tension album cassette. Ooops.

The quality of the downloads is so much stronger than Spotify, loving the extended versions.

I don't know why but the extended versions aren't working nearly as much for me as I thought they would.

The intros on some tracks are too long which I think is why I'm feeling this way.

I need to rearrange them and upload to my running watch and listen to them properly….but for £4.99 I’m not really complaining. Even though I never download, except occasionally for Kylie of course.

Over the weekend I'm doing the same and putting together the best parts of both tension and tension 2 so I can get a good flow of my faves.
