According to her chat with Amanda Holden the reissue of Tension got changed to a whole new album as they had a lot of songs and it's a great way to grab money and also sell a Tour etc.

The 4 week pre-order tells us this also. Expect another album in 2025 everyone

It's good she is getting as many songs on streaming as possible.

Yeah, she is not a "cheap" artist for BMG and they have spent a lot of money with videos etc. and none of the songs have become proper hits a la Dancing, Tension let alone PP. Wouldn't be surprised if the label decided the re-release be a "new" album to make it more profitable.

Well she has a world tour coming up so grab the free advertising later in the year?

I dont think it's beyond possibility especially as she is saying Tension II is just a sequel and the songs probably already recorded long time ago when deciding tracks for Tension 1.

Could be wrong but hope I ain't

I think it would’ve been better to just release it as a double album combined with Tension instead of this mini-era they seem to be going for. Like Taylor with the surprise 17 extra songs or however many with her album. It would put less pressure on her to reach #1 with this release considering Tension already got there

This weekend we will already have 3 charting singles from Tension 2!!

Lights Camera Action

Dance Alone

My Oh My

Would love if Edge could make it 4 sometime and also maybe one of the album tracks take off to make it 5!

Its good to see her getting into the charts as at this stage chart positions are bonuses but i would have liked one of them to have been a bit more successful.
How come the album is now in the Itunes charts for many countries already despite it not being released until 18th October?

Looks as though iTunes are allowing pre-order albums to chart once again for viability - loads of pre-order albums have appeared in their charts.

Album: Tension II

iTunes:

#8 Malta

#10 Australia

#11 United Kingdom

#15 Ireland

#15 Lithuania

#18 Austria

#24 Belgium

#25 Greece

#28 Malaysia

#34 France

#59 Peru

#79 Israel

#94 Colombia

#103 Argentina

#110 Philippines

#137 Canada

#141 United States

#143 Germany

#169 Chile

#173 Hong Kong

#173 South Africa

And My Oh My suddenly back up to 59 and Lights Camera Action back up from 15 to 10

Strange.

OK. We need a few more pre orders lol.

Nice movement for both but in their region of the charts I think literally 5 people downloading in a short window makes the difference

Anyone feel there is less hype around tension 2 than there normally is for a new kylie album? Or is that just me?

It’s hardly a new album. 9 unheard tracks lasting barely longer than 2 minutes does not a new album make. Hence the lack of hype.

It’s just a way to extend the era.

Far less hype….as has been said, releasing 5 tracks prior to release is a new process for Kylie and as 4 of them are collabs that are kind of being tacked on (MOM maybe not , more the ‘lead collab’) it’s changed the perception. Plus we’re used to bigger gaps.

Still we have 8 new tracks (maybe more!) to discover, just like Fever after Light Years. Bring it on! Rather this than another triple vinyl variant of Tension with a few mixes and 3 new collabs.

I mean, there are albums out there that do have 9 tracks on them. So for all intents and purposes it's a new album + all the collabs cobbled together to pad it out.

I think because it’s ‘Tension ll’ so it’s not creating the usual excitement
