February 19Feb 19 The Phil, Linda and Nigel scenes were the highlight of the ep - so well done. Particularly Linda convincing Phil to go with the team. Grant was awful. Reiss' death was hilarious and long, long overdue. After rubbishing people talking about a Martin death, the longer things went on the more I was convinced. I still don't know if it will happen though. More Stacey and Martin heart to heart tomorrow. One thing though - Where is Kat!?! They've featured every other character this week and she's been absent. Was Jessie on holiday, or is she suddenly going to turn up tomorrow? I voted Ravi in the vote. I just cannot stand Jack :puke:
February 19Feb 19 Surprisingly I voted for Jack, mainly because I'd rather put Ravi with Priya. Will probs go Julia for the name, What is Toni in reference to? The only one I can think of is the one that abused Whitney... Tony Holland created the show with Julia Smith. I'm voting for Julia as Julia Jackson has a great ring to it but also I just can't see Sonia giving her daughter the same name as the person who abused her step-niece!
February 19Feb 19 I wonder if Reiss drowned Debbie in the tub... And then got killed by a tub... Tony Holland created the show with Julia Smith. I'm voting for Julia as Julia Jackson has a great ring to it but also I just can't see Sonia giving her daughter the same name as the person who abused her step-niece! Exactly!!! Tony King!!!! I voted for Jack and Julia.
February 19Feb 19 @1892319668037198310 Icons! This was the highlight of the episode for me. When they had the lingering shot and a kind of singing sound above Sharon just before Angie appeared, I thought to myself "omg is Sharon going to have a vision of her mum" and I was in actual hysterics when she did! Anita Dobson slotted back into character with ease and she is such a captivating performer. Angie appearing next to the same set of stairs where we had the iconic divorce papers scene in 1986 too. An hour long episode really allowed scenes the space to breathe and also build the tension accordingly. I don't think I could fault anything. The scenes with Phil, Linda and Nigel were fantastic. Spot on. Pleased we had the scene of Kathy helping Cindy out of The Vic; I still don't buy Kathy as an attempted murderer but I guess this scene went a little in the direction of redeeming her. The stalling with Stacey and Martin was a typical soap trope but I totally bought into it. So excited for Lacey Turner to deliver in the live episode tomorrow (like a month after giving birth in real life as well). I'm hoping that Jessie Wallace wasn't available for these block of episodes for whatever reason, but hopefully Kat will turn up in tomorrow's live (with a returning Zoe would be fantastic but I'm not allowing myself to get too hyped about that). It was mentioned that Patrick was returning home later in tonight's episode so hopefully he makes an appearance too.
February 19Feb 19 Well that was brilliant, and what a surprise to see Angie. Edited February 19Feb 19 by Mark.
February 19Feb 19 I'm praying that Martin doesn't die tomorrow but if James Bye has quit then I could totally see why a death is the only logical exit for him.
February 19Feb 19 Has he quit? No nothing has been announced but I've seen loads of theories that Martin is getting killed off recently. I can't say I gave much thought to them until this week when there has been quite a bit of foreshadowing. I'd like to think the producers have learned from past mistakes and wouldn't kill off such a legacy character unless it so happened the actor quit. As I say, a death exit would feel logical because I can't see it being true to character that Martin would leave his kids (in the same way it was inevitable his dad Arthur would be killed off when Bill Treacher quit).
February 19Feb 19 Lacey's gonna knock it out of the park in tomorrow's live isn't she? The tissues are ready :cheeseblock:
February 19Feb 19 That really was great, its all set up brilliantly for a great live episode, interesting to see if James Bye has quit or is it just the rumour mill building, loved seeing Angie such a legendary EastEnders character and superb actress and she just picked it right up again, im really enjoying everything this week apart from Kathy been Cindys attacker although i still think there is a twist to come in that but as it is i just dont see Kathy going from been so heavily involved in the 6 murder to putting herself in the same position again as Cindy could have died. its far too out of character unless they are turning Kathy into the next serial killer!
February 19Feb 19 Lacey's gonna knock it out of the park in tomorrow's live isn't she? The tissues are ready :cheeseblock: Yup!!! She coudln't do many stunts before, with being prwgnant, so she will be able to do them again tomorrow. Wonder if she ends up in a coma to explain away the maternity leave she'll be on in thr show soon... Loved seeing Angie ane Sharona nd seeing them together in the credits!! They should just bring her and Pat back. Don't even explain it. Juwt have them xome back on a bus and slot right in. We'll all accept it!
February 19Feb 19 Angie Watts! Very well done! Reiss’ death was so apt. The way it had to be. Phil, Linda and Nigel just made me want to cry, excellent stuff. I think Martin is dying which makes me annoyed at Stacey. I’m not feeling this at all. I don’t think Martin would be a wise choice for a death long term, it’s just another funeral Michelle won’t turn up for.
February 19Feb 19 I am assuming James Bye wanted to leave and they didn’t want to just recast as he is so quintessentially Martin now and it’s the kind of character you kind of have to kill off as Liam said, he is not someone who would just up and leave his family and kids. And now I’ve seen tonight’s there is no way it’s just going to be Martin and Stacey happily ever after now, it would such classic Eastenders tragedy to kill him off just as, after years of it being so clear he belongs back with Stacey, they finally reconcile after he put his life in danger to get her out of the explosion. But then part of Eastenders has always been the family units, the characters and their bonds and relationships, so why not make them a strong enduring family unit again? But then Lacey Turner gives her best around suffering and devastation so I just know she is going to give the performance of a lifetime in that live episode tomorrow. As kind of the quintessential 21st century EE character, it feels fitting for her to be front of centre suffering another loss of a love of her life in another live episode. Martin dying also makes sense for Lacey’s maternity leave coming up, I could see that she just can’t cope with the guilt and memories and takes the kids and goes to visit someone for a while or something.
February 20Feb 20 Yea I can't really see any way past that outcome unfortunately, it's so sad for Stacey though especially when she's already lost Bradley etc but idk how they can pair her with anyone else, even Keerat wasn't quite it for her I think they should keep him alive, the Knights decide they don't want to live in the Vic anymore once it's rebuilt and somehow the Slaters take residence - Stacey and Martin as the landlady and landlord... in an ideal EastEnders world  The Vic has been missing a really solid legacy family that's on par with the Mitchells, even the Carters fell a little short tbh
February 20Feb 20 Yea I can't really see any way past that outcome unfortunately, it's so sad for Stacey though especially when she's already lost Bradley etc but idk how they can pair her with anyone else, even Keerat wasn't quite it for her Funnily Stacey and Vinny had some good chemistry earlier in the year. It was in the hospital post Nish drama - but they seemed to work alright together, Doubt that ship would sail though.
February 20Feb 20 :D it is odd Kat has been MIA this week I reckon she will be in tonight's one surely?
February 20Feb 20 @1892321072948658467 Aha I did pick up on that Denise scene but just assumed it was a subtle tribute rather than any sort of foreshadowing!
February 20Feb 20 Wow! Huge hats off to James and Lacey delivering stellar performances (and extended scenes too). Awful for Martin to be gone though. That was such a good live episode, no issues at all!
