I'm assuming that "cliffhanger" had more to it than the excitement of Denise making pasta?

Didn't watch it at the time.

lol how on Earth did Harvey and Kathy not notice Cindy stood there bold as brass?

  • Look who reunited in real life this week! 😍 Apparently Shane Richie and Steve McFadden were there as well so a mini EE reunion in general.

Tonight's episode was fantastic. I was totally engaged all the way through, to the point I didn't even think I was watching people act. Uncomfortable viewing at times, but realistically so. I complete

She'd had a row with Carmel because she'd broken up with Kush. It was all a bit naff (and another example of how terrible Sean O'Connor's tenure as EP was)

Thanks.

I really hope that it doesn't fall back into disrepair again now Chris Clenshaw has gone

Poor Nigle :( It can't be long now. I hope he reunites wirh Julia. I was hoping they would give us YEARS with him, as he is a breath of fresh air, and make it a slow burn. Looks like they'll be finishing his entire storyline by Christmas at the latest. They're making Jesn more likeable with Nigel again I see. But ... I just don't buy Harvey and Kathy.

I mean, Denise had just slapped Carmel in that scene and really that should have been the duff duff, even Carmel leaving was dramatic. But they lingered to watch he pour the pasta and it became iconically bad.

There were so many awful stories and cliffhangers at the time that this just became the pinnacle of it all. People had been screaming for Denise to dominate the screen for years and she was-but frustratingly so. Entire episodes dedicated to her studying for one GCSE, refusing everyone’s help so that she could eat out of bins acting too good for a food bank. It was a mess.

The one story she’d had that was interesting at that point was being pregnant to Phil. The idea of her becoming a mother again late in life to the man she despised the most-that could go somewhere. But she quickly adopted her baby out so that interesting scenario was gone. Later ridiculously put right so that she could get Raymond back years later.

I think I started watching again just at the right time.

It was the episode where Janine crashed the car with Annie in it and then moved drunk Linda to the driver's seat to take the blame.

Stacey is really wearing out the "black grief hoody". Tbh Lacey is such a trooper still doing these little scenes here and there when she's supposed to be on maternity leave. I believe she's off for a proper break after next week's eps?

This Harvey/Jean/Kathy triangle is tiring to watch. I can see a potential Gina/Harry/Jay love triangle bubbling away too; when will soaps get a bit more creative and understand that we don't always want this sort of thing in a relationships story? 😂

Also sad news about Heather Peace (Eve) on Insta.

She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer October last year; seems like she's had surgery/ chemotherapy - which she has finished now.

Hope she has a full recovery!

Explains why Eve has been largely absent since the wedding though

It will be a shame to lose Stacey from the show. But understandable if Lacey wants to concentrate on her family.

Pleased EE won the soap BAFTA.

How are Harvey and Kathy supposed to be together with Jean and all the family living right there. I just see it being very awkward.

Such a shame about Lacey but it sounds like she will be back at some point it's just a question of how long it'll be, you miss her even now when she's just on maternity nevermind when she's making a full on exit :(

Harvey and Kathy just make so much sense, Jean and Harvey never made sense or felt right. It’s like they didn’t really know to do with them and now it’s too late. It’s a waste of Harvey’s character and it does nothing for Jean.

Lacey going is always a blow but it just reminds me of the feeling that killing Martin was a mistake. This is the second time a love interest of Stacey’s has been killed off because they wouldn’t leave Stacey/the kids only for Stacey herself to be gone within the year. I don’t believe they didn’t know Lacey was thinking of going.

Its a huge loss losing Lacey but i have a feeling she might be just taking a year out, but maybe thats wishful thinking on my part.
