Oscar is brilliant. Had no idea who he was as I never watched in when he was in it before, but he is an immediately likeable character with only a couple of clunky scenes so far. It felt a little obvious to bring in a new LGBTQ+ character just as they had axed two others, and I do wonder how "bi" they will make him in the long-run. Good casting though.

I know it was also obvious, but I like the Callum/Johnny pairing. It's hilarious how they keep telling each other they have to stop and then just immediately start getting it on. I do agree that there was no way Phil would think they were together when they were just on the landing in the pub. They're mates. Them being upstairs didn't mean that were getting it on.

And I wondered how fast Jay and Billy can move because it was literal seconds after Phil blew up that they were there.

The show is really thriving at the moment! Love that the new exec is building up the Brannings and Slaters again. I want to see returns for Tanya, Sam and Ben next!

The whole Callum/Johnny thing is so forced and awful and is clearly just a gateway for the return of Ben. The new producers only dud so far.

The fact that they've outright said he's bisexual and not danced around it is already a huge step forward for them as any bisexual characters they've had previously have been represented/written horribly, it was always Sonia the part time lesbian, "oh she was gay for a little bit", I don't think they explicitly said she was bisexual in any scenes?

It's also nice to have a queer character who is just known to be LGBTQ+ from the get go and it's just part of who he is, no tragic coming out story or shock reveal or anything that's using it as nothing more than a plot device, thats so tired and overdone and quite frankly insulting as we're way past the point of someone's sexuality being the most important thing about them surely

Ash was bisexual, wasn’t she? But she wasn’t a great character.

You're right, another one to have a thing with Peter. Tbh Ash could and should come back; the mentioning of her engagement recently suggested it could be on the cards

Anthony Trueman is returning for Patrick and Yolande’s wedding. Will be interesting to see if he gets scenes with Kat or Zoe.

Now that will be interesting. His relationship with both of them was one of the top storylines previously.

His will return should add even more to Zoe's full time return but he isnt a character i was ever in anyway excited about.

It’ll probably be a minimal interaction, I just think it’d be interesting to see them interact when he hasn’t seen Zoe is 20 years or Kat in over 10. He’ll clearly be mostly involved with the wedding.

Yes, he’s a boring character but that is his character. That’s what made his relationship with Kat so interesting in the first place. That and his judgemental mother.

Anthony's original stint was before my time (and I don't really remember his 2010s return) but happy the Trueman family are continuing to get a focus after how excellent Patrick and Yolande were last year. One of my favourite duos in the show (as well as Harry and Kojo recently and hoping the Oscar/Penny pairing could be one to watch)

Anthony was such a bore but his history with Kat and Zoe will make for some interesting scenes. I’d rather Paul returned instead!
