A missed opportunity there with Julie to really show her in the school setting. I'm not talking let's go back to 2017 school drama days a la Bex, Louise etc but it would've been good, for instance, to really show the impact of Joel's story with Julie at the school.

It'll be a massive shame if she does leave but I had thought they'd sold their house in Scotland to pay for Nigel's care fees.

The funeral episode was nice, but marred by the ridiculous rescue of Mark.

"Make sure the money is in my account this evening" and off Mark goes...

When Jon Lee was in it before, was he better than this time. There wasn't a lot of acting from him there, eh?

Farewell to Karen Henthorn after today's episode. She'll be sorely missed.

I actually thought Jon Lee was pretty good. He wasn’t given much to do but I didn’t find myself saying ‘lol that’s Jon from S Club’.

Mark is a character that needs work. You can’t have him rejecting Grant one minute and then getting involved in gangster rubbish the next. This stuff is not genetic.

Unless Karen Henthorn only wanted to do a year and was always going to leave, this is the biggest mistake EE have made in years.

Also yelling at Vicki saying she told Michelle not to bother wasting money coming over as if she didn't miss the entire family’s funerals and every wedding since the 90s 💀

I do kind of hope that if they can't entice anyone back into the role that Michelle is recast and comes back with Sharon, whenever the heck that is. It would be really good to have Michelle, Vicki and Mark on the Square together.

Ugh, I would be up for Jenna Russell returning as Michelle but I don’t she’d touch it now after the backlash from last time.

Hopefully Julie will be back within the year. They’ll know by now the vibes of the audience, Karen Henthorn has seemed quite into being part of the show and they can easily give time for Julie to go to India and then realise Scotland isn’t the same without Nigel and return just at the moment Phil needs her. The friendship they’ve built there is too good to throw away.

I’m guessing Priya keeps wearing that massive coat because the actress is pregnant?

Hopefully Julie even at the very least shows up every so often just to visit Phil.

Same, I woke up early today so I could catch it before work and could not be less arsed 💀 there’s more episodes this week that people have said should be watched unspoiled so I’m presuming that there may be other returns. I don’t mind a fleeting quick return for a visit etc as I think that is realistic but please GOD no more from her

Also the entire way they wrote this Grant return made so much sense for Mark to leave with him, they’re obviously invested in him as a character for some unknown reason but they might as well have had a one or two episode return for Grant for Nigel’s funeral at this point.

Yeah didn't like that at all, especially considering her initial stint was extended. To "keep an eye on" Grant is such a nonsense reason to leave too. Sam would've been a really good support for Denise in her upcoming story.

I was watching it thinking "she's really leaving without saying goodbye to her son" seconds before Ricky happened to arrive

I'm sure it's entirely Kim Medcalf's choice not to stick around but it's definitely a shame we couldn't have Sam full time, especially considering her main return storyline largely happened off screen
