Lexi needs an entire family dinner to convince her to go to school. Who is writing this trash??

Next week is going to be really sad isn't it.

(P.S. what the heck even was that ending tonight with the crash)

I’ve said this about 12 times since Jay left but why isn’t Lexi just with him atp? lol I know she has more family in Walford than being with Jay but presumably up north he’s closer to Ben’s prison too so when he gets out that would make sense. Phil or Billy having her would make more sense than being stuck with her ex stepdad and his boyfriend of 5 minutes. I know the Jay thing was unavoidable but he wouldn’t have just left her so idk why they didn’t write her out. She can always come back if they need her for Ben whenever he comes back. It doesn’t help they treat her as if she’s about 5 instead of an early teen.

Also obsessed with Cindy filling up her Walford general loyalty card with another near death experience x

Unfortunately Lexi not going to school isn’t actually that unusual a scenario particularly given everything she’s been through.

What I do tire of is all the other characters treating her like she’s still 7 and apologising to her when she’s the one being a brat. She’s been through the mill but that doesn’t mean she’s always right.

Was it Max and Cindy’s car that flipped? If so we know those two at least survive until New Year so pray for Jimmy.

It’s little tiresome Vicki just having beef with anyone who returns to the Square.

In the case of Grant, they haven’t even shared screen time since she was 9 years old and I’m not quite sure how he ruined her life unless she’s implying she really wished Mark hadn’t been born?

I hope that’s true! Josh isn’t exactly essential but he is really the only piece missing from the story and it’ll make sense that he comes to support his mum.

That will go down as one of the saddest soap deaths in history for me. What a beautifully directed episode with incredible performances from everybody involved.

Same here, bawled my eyes out at that ending - especially as the storyline is unfortunately hitting close to home at the moment.

Stunning acting from Paul, Steve and Karen as ever. ❤️

Oh wow what an episode, these episodes remind me why i love this show, well done to them all but as fantastic as it was played out i actually felt it was happening in real life and found it extremely emotional.

Yes extremely strong episode on all counts. I've been watching EastEnders since 1995 and remember Nigel's first stint so well, it just makes it even sadder. One of the best characters ever, a soap rarity of an extremely likable person.

Weirdly I realised I was standing next to Paul Bradley at Stansted the other week in the security queue. I regret not commending him on his outstanding performance, but then he probably just wanted some space before his holiday!

This story has been beautiful pretty much from start to finish. The only misstep I can think of was that silly car crash. Such an emotional end.

Yes Nigel was a very unique character that just worked excellently and EastEnders does need another character of this nature.

100% agree, the car crash wasnt neccessary at all but we wil just try and forget that happened as outside of that it was an excellent storyline acted amazingly.

Some lovely episodes this week, particularly enjoyed today’s (Thursdays)
