Wednesday at 19:281 day The Amy/ Craig storyline isn't helped by Amy being such an unlikeable character in the first place... she also not that well played either.Agree with Joseph about Mark; he's a dreadful character... can't stand Ned either. Had Ned actually had a few weeks to settle in/ set himself up then it might make him a bit more interesting. But its gone from 0 to 100 and he's literally crowbarred into every scene/ storyline. Its good they've remembered Zoe has died! Can't say i'm massively rooting for Kat and Alfie to stick together though. Kat worked so much better with Phil. Also where is Joel? Was he only brought back to set up the awful Amy storyline? I was expecting him to feature post Zoe death and be there for Lily (given they set up the friendship), or be there in relation to Tommy. But he seems to have fallen into a blackhole....But then Grace and Darnell have vanished too, and Ian was in prison waiting to be let out for 2 months post Gray storyline. Pacing is just all over the place atm EDIT - Just to add, there's so many unlikeable characters atm, or characters who have been made unlikeable due to storylines that If I had to do a rate atm, then it would be all over the place. Lauren for instance has gone from great to awful in the space of a few months, Priya was annihilated as a character before she left too, Suki has also done a massive 180 in terms of characterisation as well. Wednesday at 19:331 day They’re also forgetting to write in details. What happened about Ian and Gray? It was initially suggested that Ian could be in trouble but I feel it hasn’t been mentioned since? Unless I missed it.Why aren’t Nugget and Avani missing Priya at all?Do Lynne, Little Mo or Belinda know about Zoe?

Mark might just be my least favourite character right now, feel like there's been no attention paid to his actual characterisation and he's just there to fit the plots they have in mind. Ned's not working and arranging a homophobic attack on his son was uncomfortable viewing, even for a fictional TV show. The Amy/Craig thing is supposed to be uncomfortable but I'm also just not buying it - again, it's all plot-focused without any real attention to character, and that's the complete opposite way to approach something like EastEnders if you ask me.At least Jessie Wallace knocked it out of the park today, that's some saving grace for this week of episodes so far.Mark is just AWFUL and makes no sense as a character. They just quietly dropped the Ian and Grey storyline once they realised no one liked it😅 Edited Wednesday at 20:021 day by Summer FRUITS!!!!!

It's like they think "ooh okay we want to tackle a grooming storyline, okay this can go to Amy I guess" and just shoehorn it in to make it somewhat work, at the expense of the characterisations we've seen unfold for years. It's so dissatisfying as a long-time viewer!
19 hours ago19 hr After today's episode I'm thinking that Alfie hires someone to kill Max and if they can't get to him it's Lauren or Oscar so he knows what Kat is feeling, maybe even asks Ned to do it

I can't see Kat and Alfie being involved at all. Think Max leaving Zoe is just going to be a red herring with regards the gunman. Especially as when the FF was being filmed , they didn't know Zoe would leave/ be killed off. I'm assuming the gunpersons identity was planned 🤣My money is on Ravi, or someone who has yet to be seen. 17 hours ago17 hr Absolutely phenomenal acting from Jessie, Shane but also Sonny - they better never recast Tommy because that kid is a talent! Very interested to see the fallout of when they found out that it was Max who was with Zoe, whoever is pointing the gun at Oscar and Lauren will definitely be associated with Kat/Alfie even if it's not one of them per se.
12 hours ago12 hr Take a bow James Payne for some impeccable writing these past two days. I was ready to give up until I'd read how good Jessie had been here and you weren't wrong!
12 hours ago12 hr When the material is good, Jessie and Shane are the absolute best. Kat and Alfie’s relationship needs work put into it rather than just being taken for granted by the writers.I do think it’s clear though that we shouldn’t second guess what they were thinking back when the flashforward aired. It feels like an open secret that plans have definitely had to change in the last 12 months. About 10 weeks to go until we aren’t being ruled by that farce.
12 hours ago12 hr At least it now sort of makes sense about why Oscar and Lauren would be held captive at gunpoint to "punish" Max. I can't see it being Alfie doing the deed though, he hasn't got it in him surely? Ned is a possibility as is just a complete random.

They have established that Alfie and Ned have known each other a long time.
