I was thinking this - the misdirects make sense especially after watching Chris Clenshaw's reveal to the cast, but this writing feels a little sloppy.

 

The entire Cindy stuff felt silly tonight, and Reiss continues to be more irritating than anything, but I'm excited for tomorrow's episode and the live one on Thursday!

Agreed that the delivery of tonight's reveal fell flat if it really is Kathy.

 

What a spectacular stunt though and the Phil storyline continues to grip me. Bring on tomorrow's hour long episode and of course the live one on Thursday!

The Cindy stuff is really very weak. Adam Woodyatt is single handedly keeping that part together. It didn’t feel like it was Kathy, even Ian figured out it should have been Peter. Such a damp squib reveal. Also, Cindy is being given terrible lines and Michelle Collins really isn’t strong enough to pull them off.

 

I know many have tired of the Reiss storyline but at least it’s been exciting since Sonia and Bianca came back.

 

The stunt was good and there’s so much danger for tomorrow. Sharon going upstairs was a sign of something bad happening as was pregnant Sonia and Lauren putting themselves out of sight. I’m also concerned for Martin as he’s had an awful lot of focus recently-though I was glad to hear him tell Stacey like it is-I hope they’d learn from past mistakes not to kill him off.

 

The Phil stuff has been brilliant too.

Yea I think Martin is going to be very central to this given he was the first baby born on EastEnders, it's also his 40th birthday coming up, the Stacey vs Ruby storyline and the Market thing to fuel his hero complex. I think he'll possibly die saving Stacey and/or Ruby or one of them will die. We know Louisa is leaving so maybe that's why, I think if they killed Stacey off it would be worse than even killing Ronnie and Roxy.

 

Also a moment of appreciation for hurricane Kim soaking Sharon :lol:

They've just shown Chris telling the 9 suspects it's Kathy on EastEnders Revealed so looks like it really is her oop. It was too casual.

Kathy is mother supreme idc, I always kind of stan Cindy just being abhorrent too but this really didn’t need to be a big dragged out anniversary storyline.

 

I am thinking Cindy might die now, even more than Christmas when she got whacked I just don’t see how she can come back from this. I’m not sure why they would bring her back from the dead just to kill her off 18 months later, but I just don’t see if she survives where she can go or how she would stick around.

 

I think Ruby dies, Reiss is probably a given, or Ruby possibly just leaves because Martin has to save her or Stacey and prioritises Stacey or something. I do feel like Martin very much could, Stacey could be in a coma as I don’t see how else they could write her out for maternity leave with a family like Stacey has. Prison again? :lol: I hope there is a bigger shock death than Ruby/Reiss, Cindy or Martin would fit and they really do seem to be hammering in the hints it could be Martin.

Cindy reveal was so anti-climactic. That didn't deserve a 40th - unless Kathy is genuinely hiding something.

Honestly for maternity leave idk why they can just like… not show the person on screen. They could easily just refer to them and say “Stacey is at Kathy’s” “She’s upstairs” “she’s gone shopping” idk, just so you know that person is still around but they don’t have to be on screen. This case if she does go to a coma is fine and the timing is right but sometimes they have these really convoluted plots when it could just be that.

 

It’s giving “Tracey’s upstairs playing her tapes” in the 80s in Corrie because the actress suddenly moved away and they didn’t have one :lol:

I shall try to reserve judgement until the end of the week because... I just can't buy Kathy as an attempted murderer. Nope.

 

Looking forward to tonight's episode regardless, what with the explosion aftermath and the storyline climaxes of the Sonia/Reiss/Bianca and Phil storylines.
