As ever the shortlists are compiled based on received opinion and comments in the listening session. (The worst shortlist was particularly tough this week as there were at least 20 I could have put in but not much that really stood out as terrible.)

Billie Eilish - Everything I Wanted took the victory with 14 votes, 2 more than Portugal. The Man who were leading for most of the week.

 

Waze And Odyssey Vs R.Kelly - Bump And Grind 2014 won the worst poll with 15 votes, not far ahead of DJ Khaled et al and Kanye West and Lil Pump.

Voted for Dua, Taylor, Sam, SZA and Rema as my favourites, plus Artemas being slightly ahead of Chappell in my favourite chart hits so far in 2024.

 

For the worst poll I voted for the last two only - some of the earlier ones aren't great either but I'd mostly forgotten about those.

Voted for Dua, Taylor X2, Sam, Tate, Artemas and Chappell. The others are either OK or eh for me in that group.

 

Worst - Jess, George, Oliver and Jazzy. I'd pull Ariana and Elton/Britney out of that one personally as they are fine for me.

The winners of each of the 22 weekly best polls will go through to the poll of polls semi final, although there will be two autoqualifiers for the final - the songs with the highest percentage votes from weeks 1-11 and weeks 12-22 respectively.

 

The first autoqualifier is David Bowie - Life On Mars with 93% of votes (13/14) in week 4. The second is up for grabs, although the current leader in this best poll will take it if they stay above the 74% of votes (17/23) for Girls Aloud - Call The Shots in week 18.

Let's wrap up the final weekly poll of the series:

 

Results of Week 22

No surprise in Dua Lipa - Physical winning the best poll, albeit just dropping short of autoqualifying for the final, with 16 votes out of 23 (70%). Sam Fender finished second with 13 votes, and Chappell Roan spares any blushes from no longer being a #3-peaker by finishing a vote behind in third.

 

The worst poll ended with the last new #3 hit proper, Central Cee feat. Lil Baby - BAND4BAND, levelled on top with 11 votes by a song which spent 30 weeks in the Top 20, George Ezra - Green Green Grass.
