C’mon KMO snatch that gold! The fact they paid it dust for its 10th anniversary the least it deserves in to cross the 100k mark.

Kiss Me Once is closer to gold than I thought and while I'm not a huge fan of it it's good that it should go gold next year.

Tension will be there soon so that only leaves Let's Get To It, Impossible Princess and Tension 2 of her studio albums not to go gold and hard to know if they ever will, Tension 2 of those 3 might have a greater chance than the other 2 as it will gain more on streaming.

It's gonna be a while, but I think Tension II will eventually go gold in like 15 years. It's already around 50,000 units, and hopefully by its seven month anniversary it should be close to 70,000 units. I bring up the 7 month anniversary because I came across a post today which mentioned how 7 months after release Kiss Me Once (her last album that struggled to get to gold) was at 74,400 units, by which point the Kiss Me Once Tour had already given the album its final boost. If it can get to gold after a decade, then Tension II (which came out after the advent of streaming when recurrent sales are much healthier and which has yet to be promoted with a tour) should stand a chance at going gold eventually too.

Ultimately, the lack of promo for the album in terms of singles and videos is the thing that is holding it back so much.

It was at 90,884 units in October 2020, up from 89,185 units in July 2019. That puts it at around 27 units weekly, which means it should have sold ~6,700 units since 2020. Its total now should be around 97,600 units. It might be a little higher or lower than that, but I can't see it going gold before next summer at the earliest. Had we gotten a tenth anniversary vinyl or something along the lines, gold would've been a done deal last year.

 Thank you! At least it'll crawl over eventually, just taking such a long time!

'Tension', the album by Kylie Minogue, is now BRIT Certified Gold !!

Yay at her debut being updated too! If they could just add the Silver certification for 'Impossible Princess' to their archives too, that would be great.

Well done, Tension :cheeseblock:

I wonder how close we are to Step Back in Time - The Definitive Collection going Platinum

I think it's on ~280k now, on track for Platinum around August (maybe before if you consider the tour).

Edit: even that could be underestimated actually, the above estimate is based on it averaging 670 sales as of September 2023 but it managed to sell another 20k as of January 2024 (21 weeks). Not that I expect it to still be shifting 952 sales a week, but that would put its total on ~295k now.

Am I missing something? "Kylie" was on over 2.1 million back in 2006!

It’s got certified today officially - looks like BPI have updated a few other albums that were missing certifications too.
