Once again, the neighbours in Lookylion have a song I like a lot - I've already charted that one and may have been about to chart the Zanmatony entry, but they're in the other semi too. I think some of my recent qualifiers would have struggled in this semi 2 draw, so I'm hoping my current entry will be more suited to it.

Looks like a pretty favourable draw for me here yay - serving a punchy bite-sized fuzzy guitar banger, will see if I can capture the same lightning in a bottle Agent blå did earlier in the year but am pleased with it as a last minute find in any case, /r/listentothis coming in clutch x

 

I'm starting the hype train early for Hinterlandia because they're delivering another banger and they need to not be done dirty this time pls (was my 2nd fave track from that BABii mixtape after 'SiiCKLE_'). Aside from that I think the only other songs I've heard are ones that have been in PJSC already, I count 5 of those (4 of which are the opposite semi from me), most of those I don't remember too well / was not keen on but I'll also throw some early hype to Bronzil, this song feels like an unexpected change in direction from Jain and I'm very here for it! (Not that I didn't like 'Makeba' too). And I guess I will have heard FSR Rontvia's entry in passing too as if I am understanding correctly it's basically just some music from the Olympics opening ceremony that a fan ripped and cleaned up to post to YouTube :thinking:

 

Definitely a few songs that I'm hyped to hear from my semi from the artist names, in particular Frost Childen & Danny Brown sounds like a potentially great combo and it's good to see Parannoul making a BJSC debut after I previously sent them to Unknown Pleasures! (Also beautiful presentation once more blacksquare *.*)

 

Re: veto decisions being questioned - unless I am missing an obvious forthcoming bombshell a la METTE suddenly being a Taylor Swift support act / Radio 1 playlistee, I don't really see any compelling reason why Alice Chater would be a veto, she had some hype a few years ago which came to nothing commercially (and her previous BJSC entries didn't even do that well) and this seems to be a fairly under the radar comeback. Also the song is mid As for KETTAMA, it's quite different sounding to the original version and not a particularly notable release / artist in its own right (it's been a #76 $ma$h in Ireland but that's about it), so it only gets 10 veto points for the sample which isn't enough in itself to make it a veto. And yes COY have finally got through. Will the hype it had to attract 4 confirmations at once a few years back still translate to today? We shall find out xx

 

(brownie points to the first person who spots an entry in this contest that's a remake/remix of a previous BJSC entry x (arguably 'Pretty Green Eyes' is that as well as it's not even the first remake of that song that's been sent, we had 'Pretty Green' by Spinee before))

I'd have thought Alice Chater would have been vetoed as well based on a lot of people on the site being familiar with her at least, artists have been booted for less but hey ho

(there's a slight problem with Suedeonia's entry for the listenthrough as it's only available on YouTube as part of a video containing the entire album for some reason - I should be able to just find the timestamp for it, queue the full video and jump ahead to the right time then skip when the song ends though)

Essentially, yes. He's a French house and classical composer who was commissioned to write several pieces for the Olympics, including the main theme (which isn't this, that - while great too - is more definitively a TV theme whereas this feels more like a proper dance track).

 

Apparently Victor is negotiating with streaming services to get all of the music he wrote for the games online, so I hope it will be on there soon, even if it's bound to be a different edit.

 

Either way, it's my new motivational/feel good track :lol: So I figured I'd share it here for everyone who either didn't watch the opening ceremony or did but just assumed it was some random music playing in the background and thought nothing more of it. I was so taken by it myself that I had to find out the composer straight away, but it took some digging as Shazam initially showed up nothing.

This is just my opinion, but done my first run through of SF1 and it feels very one note to me....
