You can definitely hear a real piano and proper band easily playing this as it's actually pretty organic pop rock song in its core.

This is huge, her best single in years. Love it when she leans into this darker sound, love the industrial feel to it and those vocals!

What I love about this the most is that even though the composition is pretty basic and very pop, the production is immaculate. She really wants to work with great producers only and put everything in these songs and never ever they sound half-baked to the listener.

Wow, fantastic. The nostalgia hit me, it's like I felt when I first listened to the Born This Way album in 2011 - the crunching production, the big melodic chorus, the 'ah ah' bit is so timeless. Love.

The Independent gives 4/5, Clash 9/10, Consequence says it's "dynamic", Slant writes that "track is driven by a heavy industrial beat and squelchy bassline with enough heft to support Gaga’s characteristically bombastic performance."

Also we need the video - Halloween vibes are a must. Rain On Me video came later on the day so hoping for the same here.

I think it's pretty par on Rain on Me after 10-ish listens... but there's definitely more than in Stupid Love.

Compared to her lead singles it's miles away from the past few eras - does it compete with Rain On Me? I'll have to give it more time to see...

I liked it more than I did 'Rain On Me' on the first listen!

 

But obviously as I've known that almost 5 years, it's hard to say yet if it beats it.
