Biography

Benson Boone (born in 2002 in Monroe, WA) bet on himself and hit big in the early 2020s. After leaving Brigham Young University to pursue his music career, the singer-songwriter tried out for American Idol, but he left the competition after making it past the talent show’s auditions. Trading the small screen of TV for the hand-sized screens of social media, he began posting videos online, and Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds took notice, signing Boone to his label Night Street Records. Boone’s early singles were emotion-packed piano ballads—the sweeping debut single “GHOST TOWN,” the swirling 2022 cut “In The Stars”—but plugging in proved to be a winning strategy. His modern power ballad “Beautiful Things,” released in early 2024, was an online sensation before it became a global megahit, reaching the U.S. Top 10 and readying the world for Boone’s debut full-length, Fireworks & Rollerblades, which came out that spring. - Apple Music

Biography

Coldplay isn’t only one of the most popular English bands but also a torchbearer for an art-rock sound whose roots reach back through Radiohead, U2, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles. Yes, the music is anthemic enough to fill arenas—“Clocks,” “Speed of Sound,” “Paradise,” “A Sky Full of Stars”—but detailed and atmospheric, too, stretching the conventions of modern rock without ever losing the emotional thread. Formed in London in the late ’90s, the band debuted with 2000’s Parachutes. Seasons have changed—the arty experiments of 2008’s Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, the electro rush of 2011’s Mylo Xyloto, the eclecticism of 2019’s Everyday Life—but the core of its sound has been consistent: Propulsive, uplifting, grand but vulnerable. In step with the earnest spirit of its music, the band has also poured considerable resources into philanthropy: performing at Live 8, sponsoring Ocean Cleanup efforts, and notably investing in renewable energy to power 2021's Music of the Spheres World Tour. Whether in crowded bars, lonely bedrooms, closing out the London 2012 Summer Olympics, or headlining the Super Bowl 50 four years later, the effect is more or less the same: At the end of the day, Coldplay comes for the heart. - Apple Music

Oh we're back to strange skips to accommodate stale tracks being played I see x

(or if Jack cut the waffling we could've squeezed WE PRAY in too lol)

They really skipped 'We Pray', a newer song that's actually climbing to a peak in favour of that other borefest of theirs which has fallen?

Dimwits!

I've heard this four times within the past 24 hours (went to a sports bar that liked it a lot ), so yeah, would rather hear 'WE PRAY' too :drama:

Pleased that JADE's run has stabilised well over the past few weeks or so! Her taste in pop music is on point so I'm glad that this is represented in her own debut too, looking forward to more.

Biography

At the turn of the century, there was no bigger group than *NSYNC, who ruled the world with their harmonies, teen-idol charm, and flawless dance moves. They formed in 1995 in Orlando, a hotbed of talent that seemed like a sunny answer to Seattle’s grunge, under the tutelage of Lou Pearlman, the svengali who also assembled Backstreet Boys. The quintet consisted of two Mickey Mouse Club alums, Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez, and three aspiring singers, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass, who soon moved to Sweden to hone their craft alongside future superstar Max Martin and other producers. For their 1997 self-titled debut, Chasez and Timberlake were the lead voices, but it was their group vocals on songs like “I Want You Back” and charismatic, choreographed performances that launched them into orbit. Their liberation from Pearlman became a theme for 2000’s No Strings Attached, which moved over a million copies on its release day thanks to the radio and MTV hits “Bye Bye Bye” and “It’s Gonna Be Me.” For years, it was the fastest-selling album of all time, and they nearly eclipsed that feat with 2001’s multiplatinum, more mature Celebrity. But, when Timberlake’s solo career took off and other members pursued their own projects—Fatone opted for acting and Broadway; Bass tried becoming a cosmonaut—*NSYNC called it quits in 2007. They reunited at the 2013 MTV VMAs and, should they ever make a more permanent return, there’s no question that fans old and new will turn out in droves. - Apple Music

Biography

An artist at the crossroads of country and hip-hop, Shaboozey creates the kind of songs that feel as epic as a movie: gripping, unpredictable, immense in scope but rooted in raw emotion. On his new album Where I’ve Been Isn’t Where I’m Going, the Virginia-bred singer/songwriter charts a cinematic road trip through the wilds of the American West, bringing a powerful new depth to his storytelling while pushing further into the country/folk-inspired sound he’s explored in recent years. The latest turn in a dynamic career that began with the breakout success of his viral hit “Jeff Gordon”—and also includes such triumphs as appearing on the soundtrack to the Academy Award-winning blockbuster Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse—Where I’ve Been, isn’t Where I’m Going is the most boldly realized work yet from a singular new voice on the music scene. - Spotify

Biography

Los Angeles singer/songwriter Gracie Abrams has a talent for cutting to the quick. A song about a breakup’s messy aftermath, “21” opens bluntly with the line: “I missed your 21st birthday.” Another song about finding it hard to move on revolves around the simple admission, “I miss you, I’m sorry.” Abrams’ swift incisions are particularly notable given that her father is director J.J. Abrams, whose television series Lost boasted such ingeniously convoluted plotlines. Born in 1999, the Los Angeles native grew up listening to Joni Mitchell and Elliott Smith, but it wasn’t until she discovered Phoebe Bridgers, at age 13, that she began writing her own songs. She wrote “minor”—about a crush who lived too far away for her to visit before curfew—at age 17. “It was the first time that I’d written a song where I felt like I wasn’t trying to emulate someone else’s sound,” she tells Apple Music. Even Abrams’ early singles display a wisdom beyond her years. Released when she was 20, “21” revolves around the devastating line, “You’ll be the love of my life when I was young”—an elegant example of her knack for turning an idea as simple as “young love” into a complex meditation on life’s changes. “Looking back is unattractive to me,” she acknowledges, yet while preparing her first long-form statement—2020’s minor—she realized she needed to reflect to move forward. “Thinking about what that meant and how the songs needed to exist together,” she says, the experience of writing “minor” as a teen never went away. “It was always in the back of my head. I didn’t want to run away from it.” - Apple Music
