I wouldn't call 'Good Luck, Babe!' particularly depressing tbf but do agree this time of year you start to see more subdued/downtempo tracks gain traction.

 

think its endured popularity is probably more a knock-on result of it getting huge airplay/online exposure over the last 4 months. and doesn't help that 'HOT TO GO!' is essentially still a cherry-picked album track from her 2023 album. if she released a new single now I'm sure it'd have a more realistic chance of overtaking 'Good Luck, Babe!' officially

Pretty terrible numbers for Eminem given he added a new delux version + the CDs preordered for awhile were due to be shipped, guess hardly anyone got one. Snow Patrol deserved #1 though.

 

Don’t really get Hadji’s point. Nobody even knows what the current single is or isn’t, most people discovered all Chappell Roan’s songs at the same time and good luck babe was always the biggest hence why she performed that at the VMA’s. The deadwood only gets pushed out temporarily, once Christmas is over, the chart pretty much reverts to what it was before the Christmas songs infiltrated it. And calling 'Good Luck, Babe!' depressing is certainly an opinion!

Same as how espresso is an older single than ppp yet is higher… people don’t stop listening to one for the other they listen to both
