Have you listened to the preview for Joker, Jonjo? It's an indication to that song's style at least, even if the album as a whole may explore a range of genres!
Youtube kath and kim theme song to hear all of Joker. That's the style or the whole lot too

Yeah. I like it, but not in love with it atm (one of those things where I just KNOW there's likely to be something a lot better on the album) but I'm just really happy it's not just straight jazz/swing covers!

Gaga talks about 'Happy Mistake' which is about all of the projects she's released since starting out as Gaga all those years ago. It's about the dual identities she has carried and how they haven't always served her well.

I need this song!

It's out in Oceania and Popjustice users are hating it so another hit release for her!

They might be onto something — the visuals are a serve but also a complete swerve from the fact this is mostly a standard jazz covers album

Her descriptions made me think they wouldn't play this so straight and there would be something more twisted here. I'm glad she's feeling good and happy for all the musical theatre lovers though x

(It was smart of them to make sure we all knew the lead single and album were incoming)

I like both C2C and LFS so it's completely fine if it's on that lane + this obviously has broader 60s songbook vibe in it than those jazz/traditional pop albums (LFS was even 100% Cole Porter cover album). I THINK (before hearing) that it's sort of mix of Joanne and her jazz albums.

Interesting to see if music publications like Pitchfork will review this or not.

I think fans who loved CTC/LFS will love this — it's definitely in that wheelhouse rather than Joanne and mostly just Gaga doing standards. I just expected some form of rock album after the artwork and teasers and less Christmas vibes. 'Happy Mistake' is a nice AC ballad though.

Anyway, it's a side project so I don't mind it not being for me — she seems like the happiest she's been in years and more Gaga is better than no Gaga. I'll be over here perched for LG7.

Oh well let me cancel my pre-order then…
It was always going to be full covers, like I said the other day. The Joker has NO!!! original songs. It's part of why the musical element falls totally flat, according to the reviewers. They should have used GaGa more and had her writ ethe theme tune, sing the theme tune...
