It’s nothing to do with the song. Unless you go viral on Tik Tok, or are a massive global star like Adele / Bruno Mars, you don’t really have a chance in the UK without hot hits. Point blank. Even Your Love was added from day one.

Her previous single is still on HHUK though, so Fantasy can be added later on too.

It really annoys me HHUK should be massively supportive of UK artists.

 

There needs to be more balance of the bigger international hits and Uk artists who don't have the worldwide success.

Yeah I totally agree. It's already FAR harder for UK artists because Spotify is dominated by US based playlists, so the least HHUK could do is be more upfront with supporting UK artists.

I think they maybe wanted to go for longevity this time aswell but they should've playlist this song right away bc aomd was an instant hit for most ppl and this song grew on many ppl lately so they shouldn't wait for too long hopefully 🙏

'Fantasy' is fantastic and perhaps my favourite of the three.

 

Jade is the only one I can see managing to continue a decent solo career without hit singles. Popstars with some creativity and a passion for pop music tend to gather a cult gay following and get an album out regardless.

 

This is playing out exactly as I expected. Jools Holland for her first performance shows they're thinking long-term — especially if the charts aren't interested. She can flourish with critical acclaim and build a dedicated fanbase to tour for.

Can someone explain to me how the music industry works today? I mean, the record company paid for an expensive video but then there isn’t budget to add her on one of the most important playlist in the UK? Let’s be honest, which are the differences between this song and espresso? Both are easy to listen, in fact Jade’s one has more hook ups and so much more interesting vocally and musically. It is the typical song that you start to listen and then you is all time in your head, but if she doesn’t have playlist support there is no chances.

 

However I think we shouldn’t expect from her to break the charts initially, she is starting to building up her solo career and so far all critics are amazing so I guess she is on the right direction in order to start to create a consistent solo career. If she continues on that direction I can see a Charlie XCX kind of career.

God, I love her!

My theory is that Midnight Cowboy was a mistake because it didn't get much attention. Streaming services work on AI and algorithms and once the music isn't engaging, the streaming services will automatically think twice before adding songs on playlists. And 'Angel' is still on Hot Hits so... it's unfortunate but the song can still catch on later, you never know with Tiktok trends and such (Raye is currently getting another TT fueled song).

Fantasy did 247,748 streams today and reached 1m overall in 4 days which is pretty good but i just hope they add her soon on hot hits uk

Ohhh that’s stronger than I thought. She must just be missing out on the Top 200 each time :arrr: (about 75k needed)

 

But this song has me in such a chokehold atm. It’s so good and I’m not usually into disco sort of tracks. But there’s something interesting and unique about this. I really do hope it’s fortunes can turn around soon! I’ll remain hopeful and optimistic about it’s chances for now.

 

Need that darned HHUK add. Ideally a top 30 position…

 

Edit: also I think blacksquare is correct about her not needing to be as reliant on singles chart success quite as much as the other ladies do for example.
