What are your chart and sales expectations for Tension II??

Think 1 in the Uk with less than 30k, top 3 Aus, 5 Eire.

 

 

TBH, and I hope I don't jinx it with my cockiness, but she has an established UK fanbase of rich middle aged gays that'll lap up all the formats and ensure the album has big opening numbers .... so in short, I feel very confident of a UK no1. I'm always on the fence as far as Australia goes. Her last few albums have all hit Oz no1 but as a country, as much as they now love and promote Kylie, the chart predictions always seem a bit tricky

#1 in the UK, first weeks sales in the region of 30k.

 

I guess top 3 in Australia and Ireland, but really I couldn't say.

Number 1.

28,000 sales.

Number 1.

Top 5.

Fingers crossed it will be her 10th uk number 1 album, sales won't match her last 3 studio release so I'm thinking around 35k.

Likewise hopeful for another aussie number 1,

With Ireland it should go top 5 at the worst as I really can't see her going number 1.

I think the pre-sale code element will give it a boost (I know you could register for a code without buying the album) but 2 of my friends grabbed a CD to get a code (and they hadn’t bought any physicals of her recent releases) and I saw a post on X where a few people were saying it was the first physicals they’d bought in years to get a code.

I think it will reach no1 but sales will be lower than last time round. Between 40-50k for first week.

Hopefully it does. Bon jovi did something like this a few years ago with an album release in the US which resulted in a number 1.

Really hoping the release of Tension 2 will get the original some sales that will finally see it go gold.

They should do an offer that you get the original for £5 when you buy tension 2.

Coldplay will be on only there 3rd week, Gaga on her 2nd week

 

Not sure a number 1 is a given for Kylie but BMG should have enough gimmicks like a limited edition run of cassettes and the rumoured Deluxe album. + signed copies of CDs etc to be able to push during the week.

 

Pre orders will definitely not be that high....

 

I hope she has G Norton for 18th and an actual performance 🙏

Coldplay on their third week will not be any sort of threat, and the Gaga one is a physical release of a film accompaniment which is already out and *might* push it into the top 10 the week before.

I think we’ll get more but I have a feeling BMG hands have been burnt by the amount of physicals left over from Tension - I’d expect signed variants to come and not a lot else tbh. I’m certain of a #1 though - we know that Kylie can and does shift solid physical sales with each release.

Even her streaming numbers and downloads should be able to get a couple of thousand sales :cheer: :cheer:

Kind of their fault for being greedy and not discounting when it mattered most, and made most financial sense.

Yes the price has played its part and BMG should reduce prices and recoup some money from left over stock and get some more sales in the bag,.

Based on the rumoured sales we have today looks like a lot of us predicted the uk charts correctly, really hoping for another Aussie number 1 aswell as i cant see it happening here in Ireland.

A bad habit of mine is to vote in polls and then forget to say what I voted for lol, and weeks later I'm not 100% sure what I voted for.

I went with number 1 and 35k so looks like my sales will be wrong but wrong in a great way as they look like they will be far higher.
