Westlife released their 12th single in May 2002. After 10 #1s and a #2, #5 for this was quite the underperformance.

I listened to 'Outta Control' yesterday for this rate, and I still can't remember how it goes  it wasn't as meh as the Gareth Gates song though.

Gareth

I'd probably normally going for 50 C*nt, but this is about the only one of his I actually like.

Gareth. A very tired sounding and formulaic song considering how pop had moved on by Christmas 2003. Look at the other ballads and slower songs around it in the chart that month - Leave Right Now, Too Lost In You, Mad World, The Closest Thing To Crazy, Not Me, Not I () and it just sounded like a relic from the bubblegum boyband era.

Especially as he'd just made quite a leap forward soundwise with 'Sunshine' too!

50 cent is invariably the one to go for in these, for me. Fiddie rarely got me in a groove! Westlife was their best record to date, and very much not the worst track on this list, lyrics or not. I saw it as a badge of honor that the more I liked a Westlife track the less well it did commercially.. :teresa:
