Assuming it is releasing end August, I'm surprised we STILL haven't gotten any official confirmation yet. This isn't a Dance Alone or some surprise collab that can just drop on streaming with a week's notice. An album re-release warrants good enough runway.

With the edge of Saturday night not listed on the track listing it makes me think the deluxe listing may not be the planned release.

I have serious doubts that a new version of Tension will happen.

My guess is they were going to announce not long after MyOhMy release but then saw the luke warm reaction and will now wait until Edge Of Saturday comes out and add this as a grat track when you pre order the album ?

The edge of Saturday night has already been confirmed as a single from the blessed Madonna’s album so it may just be a stand alone release and not part of the tension reissue project if it even see’s the light of day.

She said on the interview with Zoe Ball she’d been busy recording or words to that effect. As much as MOM has been underwhelming streams wise it’s no worse than what ASTM did to lead off Disco Guest List. Maybe the plan was actually the launch of a new album with MOM but they’re delaying it because it’s not doing well enough to kick start the campaign.

I feel like if it was really coming on the 23rd August, we'd know something by now given it's less than 3 weeks away.

Are we now thinking new album in Q4 of 2024 and this summer a few side project features ?

I worry that all these collaborations would dilute the impact a lead single would have if there was a brand new era starting this year as well. I'm happy to get a 'Tension' re-release if only to get the original deluxe tracks available on vinyl and to get an alternative artwork.

 

Could August 23rd actually be when the re-release will be made available to pre-order rather than its release date?

That would make more sense if August 23rd was the pre order date as I really can't see the new edition getting released August 23rd.

Great to get the sales up date but I'm a little disappointed it's not gold or even closer than it is, without a new edition it will another few weeks to get there.

Ooof, it really slowed down 🫢 I thought/hoped it could be on the cusp of 100k.

If only the ‘Extension’ release would’ve counted towards it total it’d be touching 100k by now. But still 93k is not to be sniffed at in todays climate.

11,543 sales since it left the chart 31 weeks ago, which works out at 372 copies a week. Will be even less than that at this point! :drama:

:cry: If left to its own devices, it doesn't seem likely for Tension to go Gold in 2024, but maybe towards the beginning of 2025? If there really is a reissue coming out then obviously it would do it sooner/this year.

 

I'm assuming Kiss Me Once should still be ahead of Tension. Based on old info from 2019/2020, there's a possibility of it being on over 96,000 by now. Parlophone should repress the vinyl and give it the new cardboard CD treatment!

 

Tension should have no trouble overtaking Kiss Me Once before long - it seems the latter could take until 2027 to go Gold if it's not helped along with new pressings.
