Biography

Nines first shot to notoriety with 2012 mixtape Church Road To Hollywood, a fiery, compelling body of work that spawned a string of street anthems, seeing Nines play out his role as North West London’s Robin Hood – a rapper intent on giving back to his local community. The release was later followed by the 2013 mixtape Gone Till November which earnt him the People’s Choice Award at the 2013 BBC 1Xtra Mixtape Awards. Sequentially came the 2014 release Loyal To The Soil and One Foot In the following year, which saw him nominated for Best Hip Hop Act at the 2015 MOBO Awards. A pioneering and differentiated young polymath, few artists are able to retain the artistic vision and credibility that Nines has spent the last 10 years uncompromisingly building. In 2017, Nines released his debut album One Foot Out which thrust him into the limelight as a raw, honest and richly inventive artist like no other, this was followed by his 2018 sophomore offering Crop Circle -which debuted at number 4 in the UK album chart and went on to be the biggest selling UK rap album of 2018- the album featured lead single I See You Shining, the track is currently sat at over 20M YouTube views and has recorded over 300,000 sales. Continuing to solidify his reputation as a singular British creative force like no other, in 2020 he released his most recent album Crabs In A Bucket (which is now certified Gold) securing his first number 1 album and 3rd consecutive album in the UK Top 5. - Spotify

Biography

Dasha is happy to align herself with legions of country artists before her time when she describes her music as “three chords and the truth.” As traditional as the Nashville-based singer-songwriter’s approach may be, however, she also understands the cultural impact of a viral moment. All it took was a line dance to set her on a path toward stardom. “Austin,” the first single from Dasha’s second album, “What Happens Now?,” is a delightfully catchy ode to a lover who just won’t commit. It’s also proven to be social media gold, catapulting to the top of Spotify’s U.S. Viral 50 chart thanks to a plethora of line-dancing reinterpretations. Though Dasha says “Austin” was always her album’s “north star,” it was recorded after she and co-writers Cheyenne Rose Arnspiger, Kenneth Travis Heidelman and Adam Wendler scrapped a different track, “Play Dumb,” which just didn’t fit her vibe. - HuffPost

Looks like the other crap producer is back
Ugh not them skipping brand new alex warren for stale old dasha (i do still love Austin but would lhave preferred if they played burning down)
Hopefully last week for Austin in the top 40. :drama:
Also I do not get the reason for skipping burning down? It’s not explicit, it’s not political or anything, makes no sense at all

There's just no excuse for *never* playing a song that's not too offensive/political for them to play... it's making the chart more of a slog recently because we don't know if we'll even get to hear the small amount of new music arriving.

(I've not even heard Burning Down so it's regardless of the quality of the song)

That said, Austin remains a big bop x

Oh, Austin... Please do go away

(I'm sure Noah Kahan will give you a lift)

Biography

In an Apple Music interview from mid-2020, The Kid LAROI reminisced about the short but formative time he spent in LA living with the late emo rapper Juice WRLD. They’d hang out all day, bonding, making music, seeing friends, whatever. People always coming and going, never a dull moment. Sometimes, Juice would wake LAROI up in the middle of the night, wild with excitement about a track LAROI had to put a verse on. Other mornings, LAROI would wake up to his and Juice’s managers saying it was time to pack up and head to Texas. Like, now. He was 15, 16 years old. “I’d never experienced anything like that,” he said. “Especially coming from Australia, where everything is kind of like its own bubble.” Not that 15-year-olds outside Australia would be used to it either. But such is the meteoric ascent of a talented young rapper circa 2020. Born Charlton Howard in 2003, LAROI—whose name is a reference to the Kamilaroi Indigenous nation, in which he has family roots—grew up in the suburbs of Sydney, and began to work on music when he was a pre-teen. Like Juice WRLD, Post Malone or even Lil Peep, LAROI’s key tracks—“ALWAYS DO”, “TRAGIC” and the Juice WRLD collaboration “GO”—blend ultra-melodic trap with shades of alternative rock and classic pop, a fusion that has put him on the front burner of pop-rap. His first album, F*CK LOVE, hit the Top 10 before he turned 18. - Apple Music
