January 11Jan 11 Oligarcy. The rich are above the law. The charges were absurd anyway and he'd easily have won any appeal. Was just the Dems trying to besmirch his name to stop him being elected. FAIL.
January 11Jan 11 The charges were absurd anyway and he'd easily have won any appeal. Was just the Dems trying to besmirch his name to stop him being elected. FAIL. Nonsense. You seem to think the president can simply order prosecutions and guilty verdicts. As Trump may soon be about to find out, he can't.

Democrsts aren't in charge of rhe justicr system lol. In fact, the only sctive judges ... sre rhose the Repubs put in poeer. They always accuse the other side of whst they do, you see ;) Look at their evil supreme court.
January 12Jan 12 @1877350922038157656 Pretty crazy despite all that has taken place Trump is more popular than he ever was previously. Psychologically it’s fascinating because logically this shouldn’t be the case
January 12Jan 12 Most US presidents get a more favourable approval rating when they're just starting to enter office, Biden had a much better rating than that this time in 2021 and I believe Trump was a bit higher than that in 2017. It's the classic 'things may change now until they don't' attitude. Let's look at his ratings a year into the job before we say anything conclusive.

Well I just checked https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_opinio..._administration if you look at jan 2017 he was at best 44% approval 52% disapproval and at worst 37% approval so nowhere near now at all. He was hugely unpopular in 2016 when he won that’s why it was such a shock when he won

He was hugely unpopular in 2016 when he won that’s why it was such a shock when he won If you look at the polls you just posted you see low approval in January pre-inauguration with over 50% disapproving in all but 1 poll (which is 48% disapprove). Then when you look at January post-inauguration quite a few show approval ratings of over 50% and approval overall by a small margin in some (46% approve vs 45% disapprove in one for example). Before the approval ratings decrease again across most polls in Feb/March to be back at disapproval overall. Which points to what Chez just highlighted.
January 12Jan 12 I was also going by Five Thirty Eight, which is the same website as the one you quoted, which shows shows 45-41 Approval in January 2017, not great but not wildly unpopular by any means https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-approval-ratings/

January 14Jan 14 Michelle Obama, back from her trip to Hawaii now, will NOT attend Trump's inauguration on Monday. Doubt he'll be too bothered.
January 17Jan 17 They are thinking of moving the inauguration indoors as the max temp on Monday in DC will be minus 10, a low at night of minus 17! That would def effect a man his age! His ego will take him outside though, counting all the on lookers like last time!
January 18Jan 18 Confirmed to now be indoors as Reagan's second was in 1985. The thought is that they've not told the whole truth and it's partly security concerns making it be indoors. Maybe the SS has had a genuine threat uncovered. Easier to search and scan everyone going inside. Edited January 18Jan 18 by CRAZY CHRIS
January 18Jan 18 Interestingly Hamas credit Trump with the ceasefire deal https://english.alarabiya.net/amp/webtv/pro...rebuilding-gaza suggesting Biden never put any pressure on Netanyahu but Trump did.
January 18Jan 18 Interestingly Hamas credit Trump with the ceasefire deal https://english.alarabiya.net/amp/webtv/pro...rebuilding-gaza suggesting Biden never put any pressure on Netanyahu but Trump did. This ceasefire deal sounds like it won’t last though. So be interesting how it gets spun.
January 18Jan 18 Author Aye, probable that Trump pressure put it on, but Biden will have been just as keen to get it done before he leaves office, and... technically he did that. Bunch of other factors like Hamas' leader getting killed and Israel having achieved most of its objectives through that too. Gaza's even more rubble than it was before, and I doubt the incoming Trump administration will put much thought to sending funds for rebuilding it as much as calling it 'peace' and patting themselves on the back for it.
January 19Jan 19 Trump's thinking of rejecting Mandelson as UK Ambassador to the US.. He's not happy with Starmer at all.
January 19Jan 19 If Trump is not happy with Starmer, that shows that Starmer must be doing a reasonable job. Someone needs to get through to one of Trump's few active brain cells that he is not the president of the UK.
January 20Jan 20 Author Trump sworn in. Topic officially in the right era, America officially under MAGA fascism
