I agree, but only when it makes sense to challenge them.
Zoe said there'd be a sprinkling of them from today as Band Aid 40 was being released this week then more from 1st Dec.
Band Aid 40's fallen behind Wham on Bet365. Could swing back but I doubt it at this point, it was rated ahead of Wham as an unknown.
Band Aid has absolutely no chance

Wham officially fave.

2/1 Wham!

9/4 Band Aid 40

11/2 Mariah Carey

15/2 Liam Payne

10/1 Reverand and the Makers

Is there a push for Liam?

What’s the price for ‘Defying Gravity’?

Edited by Steve201

That band Aid song is horrific, why ruin a classic. Poorly produced and put together...shocked if it gets top 20.
Defying gravity isn’t even on bet 365 (all they have is just Ariana’s name but don’t think that would count). I’d honestly be tempted to slap a fiver on it

given the reception of the new Band Aid I expect now Wham! will 100% get Xmas #1 even if Band Aid get an SCR reset (and Wham! don't)

can't see Defying Gravity holding up well enough to be a contender into Christmas as everyone who wants to would have seen Wicked by then

If Defying Gravity was to get to number one, it would be there now after opening weekend. Unless there is a big TikTok moment with it. I don't see it getting there. I'd love a top 10 peak for that though.

But surely if you bet on Ariana Grande being Xmas #1 and 'Defying Gravity' does get there, wouldn't they pay out? Since she is credited on the song? Anyone know?

They usually all say it’s for a Solo song only unless stated otherwise so you’d lose.

Yeah the bookies do everything possible to avoid paying out.

Idk why all the markets quote odds for artists instead of songs.

This is what William Hill says “

Bets placed on an individual performer who combines with another performer(s) will be classed as losers unless the specific grouping is stipulated at the time the bet is placed. Others available on request

You have to be careful because they do screw people over. If you request a specific song they will add it and give you odds

Y’all are underestimating the hold a huge movie musical has at Christmastime…. Wicked will not be dropping off anytime soon.

(Not saying it’ll be number 1 etc… but I wouldn’t dismiss it…)
