^yes I saw that yesterday, same as Camila Cabello including a Drake song in her latest :D

Wouldn't say it's quite the same - the Drake song on Camila's album was a lot more of a random inclusion! At least Laroi has a notable connection to Juice WRLD, as Juice was his mentor, and their collaboration GO marked the first step of Laroi's commercial breakthrough. He's released at least a couple of songs about the grief he's felt since Juice's passing (TELL ME WHY and WHERE DOES YOUR SPIRIT GO?), and the audience chanting "long live Juice" before GO at his concerts has become a tradition. It's a touching move to have a Laroi song included on what is supposed to be Juice's final posthumous album I think.

We'll have to wait for how well it does over the weekend, that's peak Christmas streaming time

Yeh with 1st dec being a weekend day that could go against it as if it was a midweek day and also had the weekend seperate my it would probably do it!

I can't believe how much Driving Home for Christmas seems to have fallen in popularity since it hit the top 10 a couple of years ago.

I need a couple of milestones hit for these songs this year:

Top 10 for 'Underneath The Tree'

Top 40 for 'My Only Wish (This Year)'

Re the Juice WRLD album, I think it would have been huge if it was released when it was originally supposed to (this album, or at least one with the same title, was originally meant to be his first posthumous release and was allegedly an album that he had worked on while he was still alive, I'm unsure if that's still the case now or if it was heavily meddled with in the mean time). As it is it's been teased and delayed so much to the point where I think a lot of the core fanbase has just got pissed off and lost interest so I'm not surprised it's ended up making a fairly muted impact (not helped by releasing right as the Christmas songs really start taking off tbf), much like the last posthumous Pop Smoke and XXXTENTACION releases. Hopefully they'll get the memo and let him rest now but with so many still unreleased leaks and apparently much more in the vaults I imagine we'll still keep at least seeing new singles / features for a while yet.

In other news... yay for The Pogues going top 10 today! 8th highest Christmas song, hope it will be good to make the official top 10 for another year.

I think we can say with near certainty that Wham! will be #1 this week

New peaks for the top 3 Wicked songs stopped due to the Xmas takeover.....

as further proof that the Christmas Hits playlist pretty much dictates the chart at this time of year the Perry Como and John Williams songs seem to have suddenly gained a lot of "popularity" this year, new peaks for both already

would be cool to see John Williams finally go top 40 officially later in the year though, at the age of 92 he'd be one of the oldest living performers to ever have a "new" chart hit.

Will be interesting this week but I’d say Gracie should hold #1 this week (remembering wham will need to be doing at least double to match her)
Yeah it’ll be difficult for wham though looking at Apple Music today seems to be opening a nice gap

You only have to look at "One More Sleep" as an example of that - particularly how US-biased the spotify playlists are too. Top 10 on Amazon & Apple Music but only #59 on spotify. It was recently named the most played modern Xmas song in the UK as well (using radio + TV play ). Its lead over 2nd place was quite substantial as well.

One More Sleep has accumulated the equivalent of 14 weeks of continuous airplay on radio and television since its release, compared to 11 weeks for Underneath The Tree.

I wish that it would one day get better support on spotify :(

Cher and Sam Ryder songs not do anything on 2nd year

Cher is at #158 on Apple Music. I did see it on Amazon as well when scrolling through earlier although all the Xmas songs have disappeared on the chart  They'll probably be back soon so will check where Cher is once they pop up.

Edit: They're back and Cher is at #108 on Amazon.

Thanks for that!

Spotify is really doing her dirty this Christmas season. Whoever curates the Christmas Hits playlist decided to put DJ only at #72.
