I guess we'll have to wait til Friday to know the fate of Band Aid and Ed & Elton.

Looks like Wham! won't get there this week and Christmas songs don't usually gain a lot in the second week of December so I can see next week being close too

I think wham might do it. They gained 778 on thats so true on this update and still have 3 days to make up 581

Yeah but the Christmas songs have declined a bit since the 1st December boost now. Think Gracie has it in the bag for another week

Linda Perry who sang What's Going On with 4 Non Blondes was a lesbian but that wasn't a solo single. Dusty Springfield was not out (understandably) in the 60s when she was No.1 with You Don't Have To Say You Love Me. I'm sure there are more.

4 Non Blondes not #1 either.

Lesley Gore was an early too example but she didn't top the UK chart, only the US. She came out years later, like Dusty

Wow at Christmas songs potentially not being number one in the first week of December!

Comparing today's Christmas song positions with last year.

Underneath The Tree and Santa Tell Me making forward progress on 12 months ago which shows they continue to get popular year on year.

Thats so true is doing nearly double than Wham on Spotify for the last couple of days

so think Gracie will keep the #1

today:

Thats so True: 570K

Wham: 316K

yesterday:

Thats so True: 572K

Wham: 334K

I think wham might do it. They gained 778 on thats so true on this update and still have 3 days to make up 581

Well I think Wham was probably ahead yesterday but could be wrong. Basically I expect Grace to extend her lead the next few days

The Monday update almost certainly didn't include Sunday's Spotify streams, when Wham! did considerably more than double Gracie. With that now factored in and Wham! still not ahead, I can only see Gracie widening the gap.

Bobby top 10!!!! :cheeseblock: Kelly on the cusp of it too! :cheeseblock: This will be her year to go top 10 I feel!
Last non-Christmas song to be #1 in December was Dance Monkey in 2019, somehow it’s possible that the first song to do this in 5 years is worse than the last one
The tracking week includes the end of November as well as some of December and there have been others on that week since 2019, but none with as many December days. 'Dance Monkey' was the #1 on charts announced 6 and 13 December even without ACR - I think only Adele has managed that since, and that was on a chart announced 3 December.
I'd like to think so since I have money on her, but my gut says that Wham! will obliterate all competition on Christmas week.
Band Aid could still get #1 this week if they get the magic reset come Friday :) could still happen but guess not, would set up a bad precedent I guess
