This time it seems the race isn't competitive at all. Also, the Amazon song seems no more a potential contender unlike before, are less people using the Amazon playlists?

Another consideration, how incredibly low are the Album sales! Do you remember when people like Olly Murs used to make their day releasing albums in this period, increasing sales week after week?

I'd posted the following elsewhere about the album sales:

I think we might be heading for the all-time lowest sales for the Christmas number 1 album. Sabrina Carpenter or Michael Buble will have to almost double their above sales to avoid this happening.

The last 10 years:

2023 - Hackney Diamonds - Rolling Stones: 16,460

2022 - Midnights - Taylor Swift: 17,109

2021 - 30 - Adele: 70,813

2020 - McCartney III - Paul McCartney: 33,079

2019 - You're In My Heart - Rod Stewart / RPO: 71,330

2018 - The Greatest Showman - OST: 68,606

2017 - Revival - Eminem: 131,622

2016 - Together - Michael Ball & Alfie Boe: 109,708

2015 - 25 - Adele: 449,870

2014 - x - Ed Sheeran: 214,451

It's really sad but the executives in charge have nobody but themselves to blame.

As nice as it would be nothing can force people to buy music again

Coldplay and Taylor Swift have both managed it this year to name just two. Imagine the sales figures if had they held off to releasing their albums in December.
