There aren't any automatic resets this week though (unless OCC changed their minds etc.) + will likely just drop straight back down tomorrow to the level it was at before.

47. Jungle - "Back On 74"

bit of a random one!

Like most if not all of the re-entries, it was on Spotify’s NYE playlist!

Airing at 23:30, any impact from the NYE TV shows probably wouldn’t be seen until the next day.

Im also guilty of streaming the New Year playlist on Spotify

Hot to Go was track #1 and Espresso and Apt were very high and also had Whitney, Abba, Murder on the Dancefloor, We found love

Dasha, Shaboozey, all very high on the playlist

Just like the Christmas playlists, it seems like these New Year's playlists are very US-centric (to re-iterate, I doesn't matter that Charli XCX, Ed Sheeran, Amy Winehouse, etc. are British, they got famous in the US 10+ years ago).

Things like S Club 7, Dizzee Rascal, Girls Aloud, Vengaboys, etc, should be charting today as they're just as beloved here as Kesha for example, but get overlooked due to not being famous in the US. It makes me sad for some reason.

Same here, it makes music less diverse overall!

Totally agree. And before long it brainwashes your average British Spotify playlist user into believing that the Spotify-curated (and typically American) hits have been their favourites all along. Depressing.

Can someone please release the "f**k P Diddy" version of TikTok on Spotify :(
I guess it's also a case of what is considered relevant at the moment. Surely Kesha is more relevant than Dizzee Rascal for general public.

I know what you mean. But if you go a cheesy pop club or New Years Eve party in the UK by actual human DJs, something like Call My Name by Cheryl Cole or The Ketchup Song, might get a play but they get overlooked on the Spotify playlists. And yeah, we do play Tik Tok and Timber over here too. If the human DJs and radio stations have room for all of them the Spotify playlists can do it too.

Clean Baby Sleep White Noise up to #18! :cheeseblock:

Half those streams were probably me. Really helped with all those damn fireworks :P

Clean Baby Sleep White Noise up to #18! :cheeseblock:

If it were eligible, it would surely have done enough for the audio streaming top 40 at least this week! And people said we weren't getting anything new breaking through.

'APT.' up to a new peak of #2 :cheer: DWAS less than 2k away from doing the same. Imogen Heap #48! Good to see The Marias back in at a new peak further down. The token 1 new entry is Chezile - Beanie at #191.

wow Imogen top 50

a very high re-entry for Gorillaz-Feel good inc too :)

and of course Taylor-New Year's day also re-entering, she really has a song for each occasion throughout the year :D

in the US Morgan Wallen released a new song (Smile) yesterday that went in at #8 in US Spotify, no one seems to care in the UK though :o

^Oh I know of that song, think it's a couple years old

I know it cos it samples Sufjan Stevens- Futile Devices <3 wish people streamed the original <3

Gorillaz - "Feel Good Inc." re-enters at #73.

Also beabadoobee - "the perfect pair" re-enters at #155. Might start climbing to a new peak soon? It reached #123 before the Christmas takeover.

Lots of other climbs/re-entries due to New Year's day still.

The Marias - "No On Noticed" re-enters at a new peak of #180.

Chezile - "Beanie" a new entry at #191. Was released last February - assume it's going viral.

Edit: For "Beanie" it's been out since 2023, but Chezile released an official visualiser in Feb last year and 4 months ago released an official live performance video. Both of which have racked up a decent amount of views on youtube!

Edit 2: Just seen Sub Focus & Katy B - "Push The Tempo" up to #112 on Apple Music & #94 on Amazon. Highest I've seen it on both - will likely go top 100 on Apple soon with all the NYE songs falling. Shame it isn't doing anything on spotify. Fingers crossed Apple & Amazon will manage to get the song to chart in the top 100 at least.

Edited by Envoirment

'Push The Tempo' was as high as #63 in the mids, I would think that's pretty secure for it to stay top 100 (especially as it'll definitely overtake several Christmas songs).
