January 6, 20251 yr Elton would have a 52 year span of #1 albums if Diamonds makes the top (1973-2025) - anyone else managed over half a century? These are the ones I can think of: 60 Elvis Presley (1956-2016) 59 The Rolling Stones (1964-2023) 56 The Beatles (1963-2019) 56 Bob Dylan (1964-2020) 53 Tom Jones (1968-2021) 53 Rod Stewart (1971-2024) Pretty sure that's all of them!
January 6, 20251 yr What a sorry excuse for a chart. Does anything happen anymore? The 1950's now looking more interesting!
January 6, 20251 yr I got an email the other week about Diamonds being released for the first time on cassette this week but wasn't expecting to have such an effect :D ;)
January 6, 20251 yr I got an email the other week about Diamonds being released for the first time on cassette this week but wasn't expecting to have such an effect :D ;) There are other versions too and an Amazon exclusive CD but they seem to be really pushing the cassette - maybe because of the ‘available for the first time’ part.
January 6, 20251 yr If album sales are very low maybe (there's hope) Ethel Cain - "Punish" might claim it? the album is out on Wed but if it got good pre-orers? really hard to predict cos she's a sorta underground singer-songwriter but with a big fanbase so who knows

January 7, 20251 yr Aw the momentary excitement of the top 2 being so close on First Look turning out to be a mirage (suppose it was bound to happen since Gracie is strongest on Spotify). Will also not get my hopes up for Elton to stay #1 on the albums for the whole week as Sabrina can overturn that gap pretty easily but a pleasant surprise for today x Wow Fontaines D.C.'s album potentially returning to the top 10 this week - is there some specific reason for it to be gaining again this week or is it just holding well against a flat market? (I know it was rising again when they were touring but that came to an end a few weeks ago now). Also I see beabadoobee's 'the perfect pair' sneaking in the low end of the top 100, hope that can remain there for Friday! Wonder if it's the new Morgan Wallen one at 43 Has to be, surely no way it'd not be top 100 (and when songs are missing it's usually a new entry). Lil Baby being entirely absent from the albums chart is odd though - I assume it's a mistake, wouldn't be the first time such a thing happened.
January 7, 20251 yr Fontaines just seem to be really exploding in popularity right now, from what I've generally observed.
January 7, 20251 yr I agree, hopefully at least one of the singles can also really take off for them.
January 7, 20251 yr Apt would be an excellent #1, shame it's unlikely to get there. Edited January 7, 20251 yr by Rob
January 7, 20251 yr 43 still missing on my end Got it from the trending chart, it shows up between I Always Wanted A Brother (42) and Burning Down (44) so it must be 43
January 7, 20251 yr I'm happy for APT challenging for #1 but I'm disappointed that 'Toxic Till The End' isn't anywhere in the top 100, really thought it would be once the Christmas songs had gone. It's such a bop!
January 7, 20251 yr Just seen they're pushing a first ever cassette release of Diamonds as well, looking like number one is a bigger possibility for Elton
January 7, 20251 yr Be nice to see Elton do it, shame we didn't get sales in first update for Ed last week but I'm amusing he had a big lead that sabrina chipped away at it, whereas Elton doesn't seem to have a big lead
