Looks like "Short n' Sweet" is gonna be the #1 album of the year - unless something really big gets released.

I think the triple counting of Queen albums is definitely wrong and a head scratcher by the OCC. Seems designed to allow it to remain forever the biggest selling album. It's certainly the only thing

I'm not quite ready to rule out Ed's tour collection just yet. If Ed averages 9k (what he did this week) the rest of the year, he'll end up around 450. Short n Sweet would need to average ~5k the rest of the year to do 450. Which is totally reasonable, but I'm not sure it's a fait accompli.

Albums full of streaming hits tend to drop away very slowly - look at “Sour” still doing 3.5-4k per week 4 years on. I can’t see “Short n’ Sweet” dropping anywhere near 5k this year.

Sabrina will be miles ahead of everything though Alex Warren has an album dropping in a few months who knows how that will do and obviously Ed Sheeran could attach his new album to tour tickets which usually gives it a huge boost like Coldplay last year

Unless she has a summer release don't think even Taylor could with a Q4 release at this point, sabrina still doing 10k a week atm and short of a spectacular nosedive nothings coming close

I assume this is sales from April 1994 - the OCC era?

Plus unknown sales from September 1992. BPI gives 22x Platinum on 16/1/25, which is 6,600,000.

Fleetwood Mac coming for Weeknd’s crown! Top 4 very soon - and will they catch Sam Fender before anyone else overtakes them?

  • Author

^ Fixed

Forgot to mention that Paul Simon’s “Ultimate Collection” and “Hypersonic Missiles” dropped out this week to make for Sleep Token and a re-entry for “OK Computer”.

^Julien, do you know what's OK Computer total?

  • Author

^ I don’t actually - I can see it went 5x platinum in 2013 so presumably if it keeps getting streaming points it will reach 6x before too long.
