I'm still half expecting Brown Eyed Girl to show up every week tbh.

Given the auto-play cut on Spotify I'd have Feel Good Inc. dropping out along with Popular and probably labour (for NOKIA, Revolving door and Anxiety).

If there is to be a fourth new entry I think it could be any of Apple, Everybody Wants to Rule the World or La La La dropping out.

I've also done a rough estimate for Sultans of Swing which I think is on somewhere between 105k and 110k as of today's chart so could potentially appear in a few weeks.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in looking at this (or maybe it’s just me)? In the streaming era the EOY chart has appeared heavily biased towards songs released/peaking in the first ha

Left this week:

Popular

I Remember Everything

Labour

Feel Good Inc

Wasn't expecting Love Me Not! Must have done decently well before charting. Also surprised Everybody Wants To Rule The World held on, think I was overestimating I Remember Everything. Also Lose Control finally overtaking Taste, I've been expecting that would happen for weeks now!

Edited by gasman449

I had Love Me Not on 109k so was not anticipating it showing up for another week.

Apple will definitely drop out this week I think, nothing new is doing well enough to replace it so it's a guessing game as to which oldie re-enters.

Yes I think “Ordinary” is now looking hot favourite to be Year End #1.

Yeah it should definitely catch messy , still time for some suprise release to top wasn't noah way ahead at this point

Ordinary did over 73k this week, which means it should be at around 393k or 394k. Looks like a Gold certification is happening next week.

Might be pretty close but Hometown Glory might enter this week, if not definitely next week

My estimate must be way off if you're right here, only have it on 100k

I have it on around 120k, bit of a grey area before it re-entered the indie chart though so I could be a bit off.

hmm interesting, I would have considered my estimate a bit conservative but 120k seems like too much imo.

But as you said there's a large amount of guesswork going on for the first few weeks of the year so it's not impossible.

On a separate note, there's some interesting moves in the audio streaming chart which don't make sense in comparison to Spotify which leads me to believe that streaming sales from other services (most likely Amazon) have been re calibrated this week or promotion of these older songs have been changed on other streaming services (Go Your Own Way had a very strong week on Apple too so i'm not entirely sure).

Go Your Own Way dropping out on audio streaming from #69 last week despite climbing on Spotify.

Don't Stop Me Now dropping out on audio streaming from #83 and moving #3-#6 on the rock chart.

Everywhere moving #51-#66 on audio streaming despite climbing on Spotify.

Don't Stop Believin' moving #56-#80 on audio streaming despite climbing on Spotify.

Not sure what to make of it but something doesn't add up imo - should have an effect on the YTD chart.

Does youtube count to the audio streaming chart? I think Youtube is probably on par with Amazon and Apple if so and might explain it?

Would've thought not and that it would only contribute to the video streaming chart, but difficult to know as i'm not entirely sure how YouTube Music works

Yes it's a bit weird. I'm not sure if audio-only or even lyric videos would count as normal streams and only music video streams count towards the actual video streaming chart? Just had a brief look through and Youtube Music seems to have a set up similar to other audio-only streaming services allowing you to stream just audio as well as watching videos. So maybe some of what is streamed on youtube music will count toward the audio streaming chart?
