By my calculations, there is now A LOT of stuff tanking at the bottom of the top 100 with very little to replace it.

I do think Shake It to the Max makes it next week at the expense of Prada as Julian alluded to last week.

Also in trouble soon:

Arm's Length

Indigo

Red Wine Supernova

Shut Up and Dance

Belong Together

Capaldi's reign of terror should continue for a while longer as I think Someone You Loved is doing better than all of the above currently.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in looking at this (or maybe it’s just me)? In the streaming era the EOY chart has appeared heavily biased towards songs released/peaking in the first ha

Just had a go at a full top 40, week 14 2024 to week 13 2025. You're pretty much bang on with your sales estimates, just had to change Hot To Go (it would've done a few sales in 2023 so its total woul

Agreed that “Someone You Loved” isn’t budging any time soon given the weakness of the bottom end and all the ones you mentioned are struggling more. Of course there’s something tanking much harder than anything else that may not even make the half year point too.

“Another Love” sounds like a good shout for a return and maybe “Don’t Stop Me Now” by default. Otherwise not sure.

Ah yes, was only looking at the bottom 10 when writing the comment so forgot about 'Who' (and to a lesser extent 'Defying Gravity').

'Wonderwall' is also very likely to re-enter whenever the Oasis tour starts I'd imagine, my rough current estimate has it on ~180k.

I had 'Running Around' in contention to make it in a few weeks, but that seems to have collapsed now, so I think 'Don't Stop Me Now' might return in two weeks by default as you say.

Not particularly - I have it on 125k. Wasn't really doing significant numbers until the last three weeks

Can't see any other "current" hits other than Shake It... entering before week 27, next closest with a shot is probably Blessings (on 111k). Would've said Here In Your Arms (166k) or Steve's Lava Chicken (151k) were also on the way a couple weeks ago but both are fading away now.

Cheers I knew it was something obvious but couldn't put my finger on it 😅

And before that it was Adele in 2011 (aside from the Calvin & Dua collaboration in 2018), so it’s actually not been a pop girl that often.

So it really is a rare feat then 😮

Solo female EOY #1s:

1985: Jennifer Rush - The Power Of Love

1992: Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You

1998: Cher - Believe

1999: Britney Spears - …Baby One More Time

2007: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love

2008: Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah

2009: Lady Gaga - Poker Face

2011: Adele - Someone Like You

2023: Miley Cyrus - Flowers

A good little run at the end of the 2000s but yeah has slowed down a lot in recent years!

Shake It To The Max in this week, Prada finally out! Might be another week without any new/re-entries next week but if Who is doing really badly I can see 505 re-entering.

Wouldn’t rule out Another Love either.

I think Don’t Stop Me Now is out of the picture now, dropped to #7 on the metal chart this week. Difficult to know how many sales that actually is but I’d guess no more than 6.5k

I guess we don’t know yet whether “Shake It To The Max” is silver. It will need to be there or very close to enter.

“Arm’s Length” is gone I think, meaning there’s a small chance “Prada” could survive. They might both be out though.

Arm's Length got a boost on Spotify this week cos of Sam's tour, might be enough for it to hold on?
