February 18Feb 18 It’s so sad, but no I don’t think the reviews have made any difference to the casual audience, and nor has the promo.
February 21Feb 21 I guess he carries on being authentic, produces the music he wants to produce and sees if people will buy it. I can't think what else he could do. Also carries on with his art because I really think he is onto something there. 😊

February 21Feb 21 I agree, his art is impressive. Musicwise it might be the future to do what he likes to do without any huge album. I read Gary Barlow sold his music catalogue entirely to BMG in January. As much as I could google, Rob has sold some admin rights but not his catalogue, so he can still have a huge cash in with that if he wants to do it. What will the tours look like? How often? It will be interesting still.
February 21Feb 21 Gary did not ‘sell’ his music catalogue to BMG. He signed a new publishing deal with them that included his back catalogue and future work. Different thing entirely - he won’t have gotten a huge lump sum, BMG’s job is to look for ways to use his music that will provide an income in return for a percentage of it. Think advertising and film/TV use. What should Robbie do? Continue to make music, of course. Just on a smaller budget with less advertising than before. Put out an album once every couple of years instead of once every 5, to keep the hardcore fans engaged. Alternate small gigs for the people who want new music with the greatest hits tours for the people who want that. The model now is to highly engage the super fan and get them to spend a lot of money each year, rather than getting a huge casual audience to spend a little.

February 22Feb 22 That's OK provided the Super Fans continue to have lots of money to spend.Gig tickets are £140 each for GA - they have gone up exorbitantly in the last few years. If you rely on the few - don't screw them into the ground.
