Imo Snatch Game in the UK and SG in general has really fallen off.

I'm still salty about Kyran's win from last year as well. Wow, a generic Elvis impersonation the type any kid could do in a school talent show, that didn't even have any particularly funny moments, but was just out of the bag as one of the most visually and vocally recognizable celebrities ever. Sure, that can be a winner classed on the same level as the kind of onpoint impersonation Jinkx Monsoon could pull out.

Cher again? Someone who hasn't really been culturally relevant in the whole lives of these queens? Someone who isn't British? Whatever.

I’m just mostly sick of the made up shite/historical figures, in just the last few years across all franchises we’ve had off the top of my head, mostly done terribly:

The dragon on the Welsh flag (somewhat amusing with the MJ stuff)

“Trina’s cousin” (although love the snatch game high for Mhi’ya and it was funny)

Thing from The Adams Family (a contender for my worst SG of all time)

Some of them have been done well (Lill’s Queen Victoria, Maria Clara and the grim reaper on PH3, Gottmik’s Pal the dog, Chloe Clarke’s Gollum (although mother Loulou Velvet was robbed) spring to mind, but they have to be done really well and the thing is most of them kind of use this as a cop out instead of studying a celebrity and trying to actually imitate them. It’s a difficult challenge but you know it’s coming and surely you can prepare something better than “gay and/or version of historical figure”.

If this is what it’s going to be the show should maybe do like idk a documentary improv and you make up a character that’s notable/strange in a way that would be in a documentary of some kind. But this isn’t Snatch Game, it used to be my favourite challenge that I always looked forward to but now I groan seeing the characters in tea and knowing that it will be the same old.

I think another issue with UK in particular is that Ru hosting means we don’t get actual UK relevant celebrities and icons, when you look at say Spain or France or Phillipines, they do, but I feel like the queens on UK have to appease Ru by doing Elvis, Cher or Liza Minnelli.

We could have UK meme figures by now e.g. 'I'm in me mams car' or 'Discustang' instead we get the most generic UK names that crossed the pond possible, meanwhile every other franchise can go as weird or as random as they want and its allowed. I remember the first season of Espana had a crazy lady from a documentary and Slaysian just had a woman from a 30 second travel ad!

My fave eve is Alvilda on Belgique 2’s Snatch Game randomly swapping to this one woman who had one line on the news one saying gays are unnatural and kind of slaying lmfaooo

This is the episode I'm looking forward to.

Bonnie must really spectacularly flop the lipsync to justify going over Catrin, or Catrin and Tayris must have a hard storyline moment to justify the stay.

The lipsync is Song 4 Mutya and I’m sure I saw that Catrin doesn’t know much of it but Bonnie basically knows none, I’ve wanted a lipsync to that for ages so it’s a shame it gets wasted :( Everyone also apparently does pretty well except Bonnie who bombs but Bones is the clear winner, so it’s one of those weeks where she just bombs totally and I guess there’s no saving her.

I meant performances... in E8 neither of them know the words and then in E9 Tayris doesn't know the words either!

Bones's 2 lipsyncs were both bad and then Nyongbella didn't know all the words in any of hers either. Who am I forgetting?

Tayris and Sally was about the only good one, I thought Nyongbella did turn Sound Of The Underground and Pearls too but that’s it

I've just noticed that Bonnie Ann Clyde will be the first Drag Race UK Snatch Game winner to not make it to the finale

Drag Race UK loves a two badge queen not making the finale as well - Dakota, A’Whora and Bonnie. The former two being very much questionable, it sounds like Bonnie’s is not lol
