No predictions for Joker 2?!

Definitely in the Razzies.

Hopefully with Lady Gaga included. :D

Anything to win Best Picture but "S**tlist". Anora would be my perfect choice to win but I don't think the oldies who vote in the Oscars will love it. :(

No Look Back. :nocheer:

Shame, easily the most deserving anime film of last year (and one of the few notable ones not attached to a series), but at a glance at least the Animated Feature list looks like a fairly inspired list of films, two stop-motions, one of which is R-Rated, a dialogue-free film and from what I know of them, Inside Out 2 and The Wild Robot are far from being undeserving efforts from the big American studios.

Too much of this list I've not seen to comment on, hopefully I get around to a few of the Best Picture ones before the awards show, rooting for the actors in The Apprentice though, to do such a good job of portraying those... men is an achievement.

Cannot wait to see the BRILLIANT BOLD MASTERPIECE!1 emilia Perez win 10 awards here. An inspiring story directed by a French cishet man written by AI in definitely-not-clunky Spanish that tells us that we can all start afresh and be absolved of all of our horrendous crimes as long as we are trans.

Not seen many of the other nominees from the other categories so I can't fairly predict.

I've been catching up on as many Best Picture nominees as possible over the past few weeks (just haven't seen A Complete Unknown, I'm Still Here and Nickel Boys now) and I'm really rooting for Anora, if it wasn't obvious from my avatar! I found the movie genuinely touching and surprisingly funny, Mikey Madison was a revelation. Demi stole my heart in The Substance too so also won't be mad if her comeback story fully plays out with a win.

Cynthia & Ariana performed Defying Gravity. I can see that getting reset on Friday

A sweep for 'Anora' which wins 5 of it's 6 nominations (losing Best Actor in a Supporting Role - but Yura would have deserved that too had he won btw!). 'The Brutalist' wins 3 of it's 10 nominations with 'Dune: Part Two', 'Emilia Perez' and 'Wicked' each winning 2.

So SO happy for 'Anora'! I was sure 'The Brutalist' would be getting Best Picture but the moment 'Anora' picked up Best Original Screenplay I was hopeful and then when it got Best Director too, it was game over!

Anora was great so I’m happy to see it sweep, I am gutted for Demi losing Best Actress though as it really felt like her time. Also sad for Ari and Cynthia but they were strong fields and given the rest of the season I didn’t expect either of them to win.

Pleased about the Anora sweep this year! Demi winning Best Actress would've been a moment but Mikey is deserving all the same.

The Brutalist's score stood out to me a lot so I'm happy it triumphed in that category.

I really need to catch up on Flow and I'm Still Here.

Ariana and Cynthia's Wicked/The Wiz/Wizard of Oz medley at the start of the show was stunning - hopefully an official upload materialises ASAP!

I saw that Demi was the favourite in the odds for Actress but I was super sceptical. The Oscars almost never reward horror movies, in fact I can't think of any winners since Hopkins/Foster for The Silence Of The Lambs.

I did feel the narrative was going Anora's way so I sensed Best Picture coming, but didn't quite see a nearly clean sweep of the big five coming! I'm very glad as it was certainly up there with my favourites this year, must be a while since the Palme D'or and Oscars were in sync x

I'm gutted for Demi, but that film getting recognition at all was quite something especially with the aforementioned bias against horror films and it was a pretty close run contest. I've got to say I'm also gutted for Fernanda Torres, I just saw I'm Still Here this weekend she was absolutely phenomenal, such a wonderfully subtle and realistic performance for someone who could've been easily been portrayed in an over-the-top way. I'm pleased it won International Film at least.

Emilia Perez getting nothing would've been quite a moment, but I guess they couldn't quite justify it x I don't actually have an issue with Zoe Saldana getting the award and the song's not amazing but hardly the film's worst offence...

Not gutted at a Complete Unknown get nothing, so bored with formulaic music biopics. I still need to see Flow, irritating how late we're getting it here x

Anora (2024), Parasite (2019), Marty (1955) & The Lost Weekend (1945) are the only films to win the Palme d’or and Best Pic @ Oscars!

Anora and The Substance were both in my top 3 movies of last year, so I'd have been happy with Best Actress going either way, but Anora does have the edge for me so I'm delighted to see it sweep and win almost everything it was nominated for (and Kieran Culkin is brilliant in A Real Pain, definitely the right choice there even if it wasn't a supporting role)

I watched live and in general (at least in full) for the first time ever and I rather enjoyed it!

I hadn't seen any of the movies I will straight up admit but if anyone has any recommendations from this oscar bunch lemme know! I was sad that Wicked only got 2 but a great two to have heart

I feel like The Substance and Wicked will probably be most up your street from the ones I've checked out!

By the wrong performance, too!! Shoulda been Yolanda Fontaine but they were never gonna award her horror performance!

I for one am thrilled Zoe won. I actually found Emelia Perez to be quite a fascinating film and her performance in it was a real standout. Other issues aside
