This is a pretty muted first day performance by Drake standards, it's not like he was ever going to completely fall off and never chart again.

 

(mind, I am pretty sure it'd be muted by his standards even without the beef ever happening, simply because 'PARTYNEXTDOOR & Drake' will never be the same sell in the UK as Drake solo)

 

Yay for 'luther' hitting a new peak on Spotify today, would love to see it re-enter the top 5 officially. I wasn't really that into it on my first couple of listens but it's really snuck up on me and I understand the hype now. (The other SZA collab on 'GNX' on the other hand I still think is just ok oop. '30 For 30' is a banger though so yay for that also continuing to rise x)

I kinda think the best strategy for Kendrick to kill Drake's career now would have been to ignore him

Not Like Us did its thing last year but what he did at the superbowl only benefitted Drake

was like a reminder that Drake exists

it would have been better to ignore

agree I thought Busy Woman would be minimum top 10 on Apple by now

Well it’s been over 24 hours now and #4 is the highest Drake song + Apple is usually more album friendly so it’s better than expected but still way down on what you would have expected a few years ago.

 

Deluxe songs never do that well as singles, look at Olivia Rodrigo last year.

look at Bad Romance, Telephone, Part of Me, Ellie Goulding-Burn, Take a bow, Disturbia, Leona-Run, etc etc etc

A Drake album was never going to be a total flop, especially one coming off the back of a year in which his name was the centre of conversations, and he still has very large support (but if we're being honest, this is still down from his standards a couple of years ago)

 

Sabrina is doing a bit worse than expected, top 20 on Apple in only 4 countries and Drake is not that big all over the world.

 

This is a tricky rollout I think. The clear standout song of the deluxe has been out for 6 months in some capacity, and hasn't been mentioned by Sabrina in 3 months. No video, no new live performance, not even a social media post. Her focus has been on a feature that's polarizing at best. Will be interesting to see spotify numbers+ how her and her team react
