Everybody Hurts is one of my favourite songs by probably my favourite band ever. It’s also massively important to my wife and I. It was there for us during our baby son’s long illness and, after it h

Dancing In The Moonlight was first recorded by its writer's band, Boffalongo, in 1970. The first version to be a hit was by King Harvest two years later, reaching number 13 in the US. The Eastbourne band Toploader's cover got to number 19 in March 2000 before peaking at number 7 as a re-issue in February 2001.

“Domino Dancing” is good but I don’t think it’s absolutely top tier PSB.

“Dancing In The Moonlight” is nothing extraordinary but a well done cover.

“Forgot About Dré” is easily my favourite of this trio - still sounds fresh and absolutely up with the greatest hip hop records along with a few others by both artists.

Dancing In The Moonlight is one of my least favourite songs ever, never mind in this rate, so I'm pleased to see it not troubling the upper reaches!

Domino Dancing is just alright to me, prefer some other PSB tracks. Forgot About Dre and Dancing In The Moonlight are both iconic though, shame to lose them this early.

'Forgot About Dré' is my favourite to drop out today as well. Love the earworm chorus, chaotic verses, bouncy synth production and epic guitar later on. 🙌

Decent enough showing for 'Forgot About Dre' there, should be higher but we take what we can get with rap songs on BuzzJack. I only discovered 'Domino Dancing' relatively recently, not quite among PSB's very best songs for me but high second tier jump 'Dancing In The Moonlight' is heavily overplayed but still pretty good for me, although we do not speak of the more recent hit version of it. (aside, I was just reading the other day about the shockingly dark backstory behind the original version of the song, oop x)

It's an absolute travesty 'Domino Dancing' finished this low, and I'm actually surprised at people saying it's not up there with the best of the PSB, for me it totally is.

I think I quite liked 'Dancing In The Moonlight' when it first came out but it has been played to death since then and I'd be quite happy to never hear it again tbh.

'Forgot About Dre' is a bit of a tune!

Shame to see Forgot About Dre drop out.

Don't care for Domino Dancing myself, it's not in the handful of PSB songs I like.

Can't bear Toploader at the best of times and not really a fan of the song either so glad that's fallen.

This double A side single was the first top 40 hit for the French duo. In the memorable video, Charles is played by Tony Maxwell who was the drummer in a group called That Dog while the actress playing the childhood neighbour he runs into survived a plane crash in 1970 that killed about a third of the passengers while in her mother's womb. This is the first single to avoid every voter's bottom five and wins a tie-break over I Get Around by having one 48 point score.

Light My Fire only got to number 49 when first released in 1967. It did much better in the US, reaching number 1. The 1991 revival of the song coincided with the film biopic 'The Doors'. A later 2002 cover version by Will Young took the song to number 1 and another cover by Amii Stewart in 1979 reached the top 5.

Ooft not a good day for my 60s faves!

The Doors' self-titled album is one of my non-Beatles favourites of the decade and 'Light My Fire' is one of the biggest highlights, so commanding.

This was the first of two top 10 hits for the Canadian singer. In her own country, it spent eight weeks at number 1, the fourth chart topper from her 'Jagged Little Pill' album.

It's a hat-trick of singles from the late 90s today with this one from 1997. It was the third track taken from the Verve's 'Urban Hymns' album. The previous two, 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' and 'The Drugs Don't Work', had both reached the top 2.

Head Over Feet was my favourite Alanis song on Jagged Little Pill, the melody just shone from the first time I heard it and it felt really unique and poppy. Not sure it's quite my favourite any longer but it is still really great and I'm glad it finally gave her a top 10 single from the album.
