This is excellent. Totally agree it feels so fresh but also so them, it’s exactly how they should be sounding in 2025. LOVE.

Ok so Jon Shave is also responsible for Situations Heavy, which has obviously helped make it feel so classic Sugababes

(And we will gloss over that he was involved in No Can Do, Nothings As Good As You, and Hanging On A Star)

God this is going to be sooooo good on tour. I can just feel it

Already Stan levels of obsessed of course. But I think it might be the best lead since Freak. Feels similarly statement „we’re back, stand back and bask in the excellence“

Mutya just has a voice made for this

I can't think of another legacy act — or an artist to return after decades — to come back with something that felt true to themselves, but also modern. There is usually some disconnect there, fan service can detract (rightly or wrongly) from being current.

This is just how you do it.

I’d say Steps coming back with Scared of the Dark was true to them. Their first new release in 15 years when it came out in 2017.

Agreed, sounds like it’d absolutely go off!

Great for those going to see them live soon!

Absolutely love it on first listen. As always Mutya sounds phenomenal

Great track, very slick production, catchy and great vocals. They are really magical together.

I love how there is a 2.0 feel to it, Mutya sounds incredible and gives the classic sugababes feel.

It’s not one of my favourite sugababes songs but it’s nice, hopefully it’ll grow on me with the video and performances.

Oh, I don't want to discredit 'Scared of the Dark' because it was very Steps — for me this is different because it's as current as it is them. It sounds like it belongs in 2025.

This is actually FANTASTIC!

Totally echo the comments that it sounds modern but very Sugababes at the same time. Also love the spoken-word part. clap

Created a wee playlist so I could listen to Jungle in situ with other elements of the catalogue and it sounds so good next to other tracks of theirs. The more I hear it the more Three coded I think it is, and not just because the single artwork is very clearly Three inspired.

A particularly joyous run was We Could Have It All -> Jungle -> Situations Heavy

And I get what the popjustice girlies are saying about how good it sounds back to back with Round Round.

The more I listen, the better it gets!

Today’s streams do count towards next weeks charts, just not today’s downloads right? I was under impression that the streaming week was counted Thurs-Thurs? Or am I wrong?

Thursday streams don't count as they don't send the data in time, so estimate Thursday's totals. Any downloads count towards this week up to midnight.
