It’s a double eviction for the Bedingfields as “I Wanna Have Your Babies” gets a premature delivery. The track reached #7 in April 2007 and was the lead from her 2nd album “N.B.” Apparently she wanted to show a maturer side by writing a song about wanting to settle down (!)

  • Do agree that it was a weird Now 59 opener. The likes of 'Call On Me' and 'Love Machine' were right there!!

Voted for Blue next. I have always quite liked 'Back Here' personally, guess it's only downside is the weak vocals in the verses but other than that is a fine radio friendly boyband track.

Blue for the same reason as last time, managed to make a great sample boring. The weakest song I can remember opening a Now compilation.

Or maybe No.2, as just remembered it was released the same week as Vertigo by U2 😄

Still...a bold choice to lead with in front of Call On Me/These Words/Love Machine.

I thought that it would definitely peak at 2 purely because Now 59 had it as the opener, and I thought Now knew something I didn’t about how big it’d be. The song never sounded like a massive hit.

The only thing I can think is that it was Blue’s last single and perhaps they wanted to give them a belated opener or something but even that doesn’t make sense.
