As always, this is an anonymous contest so please do not reveal or hint at your entry until the results are announced - but feel free to speculate what people may have sent!

4 people went for B-sides, while 15 went for an unreleased album track. Here are the 19 songs confirmed in random order:

  • Goldfrapp - Beautiful (B-Side to Number 1 single (2005) and also appeared as a bonus track on the NA and Japanese editions of Supernature)

  • Madonna - Amazing (From Music (2000))

  • Ashley Tisdale - Overrated (From Guilty Pleasure (2009))

  • f(x) - Rude Love (From 4 Walls (2015))

  • Alexander Rybak - Kiss And Tell (From Fairytales (2009))

  • Joe McElderry - If You Love Me (B-Side to Ambitions single (2010))

  • Same Difference feat. Alcazar - Karma Karma (From The Rest Is History (2011))

  • Lisa Roxanne - Ex-Boyfriend* (Seems to have been a promo single but can't find any other info)

  • Scissor Sisters - It Can't Come Quickly Enough (From Scissor Sisters (2004))

  • Orianthi - Addicted To Love (From Believe II (2010))

  • PJ Harvey - 66 Promises (B-Side to Good Fortune single (2000))

  • The Radio Dept. - Every Time (From Pet Grief (2006))

  • Farrah Abraham - On My Own (From My Teenage Dream Ended (2012))

  • Siobhan Donaghy - Don't Take Me Back (B-Side to So You Say single (2007))

  • Mis-Teeq - Just For You (From Eye Candy (2003))

  • Saint Etienne - Milk Bottle Symphony (From Tales From Turnpike House (2005))

  • Annie - Me Plus One (From Anniemal (2004))

  • Dido - Take My Hand (From No Angel (2001))

  • M83 - Outro (From Hurry Up We're Dreaming (2011))

(Most of) the songs can be heard on the below playlist on Spotify:

The one song marked with an asterisk is not available on Spotify (or at least I couldn't find it) but it is available to listen to on Youtube. Here's the Youtube playlist (not sure how to embed it, someone feel free to let me know):

It goes without saying that you are not allowed to vote for your own song 😆

Please vote by sending me a PM.

You have until 23:59 on Sunday 30th March to submit your votes. I am intending to host the results on the evening of Tuesday 1st April.

Non-participants are also allowed (encouraged in fact) to vote.

I'm looking forward to my first listenthrough this afternoon, hopefully we will all discover some hidden gems together 😃

I'd assume the closing track's position is intentional. kink

Intriguing selection. I have several of these albums but don't in every case remember the songs chosen.

I always thought that Dido track was a single, but I'm misremembering (must have just been a strong album highlight). I bought a Jurgen Vries cover of it in 2004 that went top 30.

Yes, all the other tracks are in a randomised sequence but I thought it'd be a nice touch for that to be closing track 😃

Well it's gonna take something truly remarkable to outclass Outro, one of my favourite songs of all time ❤️❤️❤️ Didn't even come to my mind, but does fit as despite it's wide usage in Media, it was never actually a single. (inb4 Bre 'you've missed a song')

The Siobhan Donaghy track is on Spotify after all, so I have added that to the playlist now!

YouTube playlists should just embed automatically when you paste a link so not sure why it hasn't done so in the OP!

I just copy and pasted the link and it's embedded for me.

Anyway, glad to see Addy was able to sneak in with a late entry. Some ~interesting~ artist choices here!

(why is the last song just left blank though? unsure)

Not sure what you mean? What's blank? 😕

It's just a meme relating to M83 not existing somehow (don't ask me how it originated!)

What an interesting mix of songs. More cheese than I was expecting

Also pretty sure I know who sent Same Difference

Voted! I discovered some good stuff in this, from albums I've never got round to listening to and b-sides I didn't even know existed. Nice picks everyone, I could happily have voted for several more.

I can host a listenthrough for any interested on Monday evening. 🥳

Sounds good to me jump

Sadly won’t be able to make the listen through, although I have a perfect 00s excuse in that I’m off to see David Gray
